Messages - Sins Of The Father

Pages: [1] 2 3 ... 11
Cheers Jamie  :headbang:
Just myself at the moment, I have spoken with him about it a few times but I believe he is happy doing his own thing, just jamming and tracking songs for himself. Im happy for him if not slightly jealous that he doesnt have that urge to want to take it further. I can sit and jam all day but the visions of grandeur get the better of me.

Cheers for the kind words guys  :headbang:, yeah its been eating me for awhile, so many cool ideas which I havnt been able to develop in a natural jamming environment. Running between the elec drums and the guitar can kill motivation quickly. Buying new guitars does help though lol

Peace out guys, hope all is well.

Musician Connection / Sins Of The Father- Wanted: Vocals, Bass, Drums

Alright alright, its been too long between drinks...

Im planning on getting Sins running again but will need the help of some talented individuals.
Planning on doing some shows and recording the bullshit overdue second album.

In terms of what direction Sins will go, well its been 3 years since the debut album and even then all that material was mainly written when I was much younger and full of piss and vinegar.
There has been tons and tons of new influences and the beauty of Sins is that it is not limited to once particular style of "metal".

If you feel you have something to contribute, something to say, something to express via the Sins brand then read below.

If you can sound like Chris Cornell circa BadMotorFinger contact me now!
Other influences are highly encouraged, you will need the ability to sing fairly aggressive ala Anselmo, Cavelera. Something like Devin Townsed/Strapping. Good clean singing will be a desired attribute but not absolutely necessary. Any Layne Staley sound a likes are a shoe in, providing you leave the dang strap at home.

Good equipment is a must, if you cant bring the lo' down dont apply. Forward thinking and a good sense of songwriting will be highly valued.

OK il need some friggin good luck for this. You will need to have good equipment, and be pretty awesome at drums, if not amazing. Mario Duplantier, Gene Hoglan and Brann Dailor in one.

Stage presence, personality and charisma is something that cant be taught so If you dont like acting like your literally on fire on stage please rethink your application.

Jamming at least once a week at a rehearsal space is required if gigs are booked. I also have a full jam/live recording set up at my place for night jams/demos etc

For anyone interested or knows of someone interested you can contact Matt @

Massive thanks to Daz for organizing last night  :headbang:
Thanks to everyone who came down and drank up, Enforce, P-Naut and Claim for ripping it up  :headbang: and to everyone who voted.
Also a special mention to all the guys and gals who play in Perth's metal bands, a lot of you's spend way more time practicing and shred so hard, you's are all super talented and we thank you for raising the bar for us consistently  :headbang:
Also Id like to dedicate the awards we won to everyone who puts in the time and effort to keep the metal scene in Perth unique and alive.

Hey folks, as some of you have seen Sins is now without front-man, a conductor a matador.

If not then-->

Those remaining in Sins have spoken and decided to carry on and figure out a solution, for now we are still jamming for the next few gigs, 21st Oct @ The Rocket Room for Coldfate's eagerly awaited debut album
and also the 28th of Oct at The Civic Hotel for the Western Front awards night honouring those who have seriously damaged some necks and livers over the past year.

Beyond that Sins will be writing for our sophomore release and trying out some vocal arrangements, rest assure just as you cant keep a Viagra fuelled boner down we will be back on the stage with some new shit ready to get you on the dancefloor of doom \m/

Ask Ormsby / Re: Guitar last finish coat
« on: July 26, 2011, 08:16:48 PM »
Hey mate, if you paint the guitar in oil paints you wont be able to use any other product other than an oil based clear coat which i dont think exist.
Depending on what oil paints you are talking about, if they are arts and crafts paint see if a crafts shop has a can of oil paint sealer.
If it's not that type dont use it and just go with 2pak or acrylic.
If the guitar is in 2pak you can use 2pak clear or risk using acrylic clear but i wouldn't attempt it on first go.
if the guitar is in acrylic then you can only use an acrylic clear coat.
I'd assume its the same for nitro finish.

It's not hard to paint if you want to do a basic solid color or layered finish if you can be creative with stencils.

You tube some spraying videos, even car painting will help. You can do some kick ass stuff with 2pak spray cans.  :headbang:
Gimme a buzz if you need info on what stuff to use. I used to be a back yard sprayer.

That's what I mean, cause it was public holiday it was a date most desired...hopefully we can all work together and keep it the one gig and have one massive night of booze and metal  :headbang:

Public holiday is the Next day bro, Enforce launch was on that thursday  :headbang:
