Real amps are better ;)

We found it useful on some tracks for adding top end bite.

I was actually looking at the Bass pods. Just so I can record kick ass bass sounds without pissing of the neighbours. Guitar wise things are pretty cool. I just stumbled upon the pod farm pluggin and the pod studio GX and the others. Figured it might have been a better deal with the software. But thought I'd get a few opinions on here to see if it's actualy worth looking into.

I think they're awesome. You can always use impulses to change the cabs to better sounds too

Great for recording ideas and banging out EP quality stuff; PODS are amazingly flexible, but not as flexible as a fully equipped studio.

I love mine!

I don't use mine anymore. Just use plugin amps.
Some will run standalone so you can just jam.  ;)

I picked one up last week from Kosmic and it's fucking wikid. It also has ableton live lite 5. Spent about half the weekend trying to get it all setup on the pc and ironing out all the potential bugs. Havn't had much time to look at ableton live properly tho. But seen a few youtube vids on this software and I like what I see. Especialy from the MIDI side of things. Just have to get the interaction between Ableton live and the Pod farm pluggin sorted. There is a delay of a few seconds with the signal processing of the guitar. I know it's something to do with latency settings. But as I said, havn't had much time to look at it yet.

Well I downloaded reaper and just gave it a shot. It works brilliant with pod farm. Didn't have to go through any setup bullshit to use podfarm with reaper. Just open both programs. Now all I need to do is get Ezdrummer or drumkit from Hell and I'm laughing.

Just discovered that I can Rewire Abelton live into Reaper. Which is good cos my verion of Abelton has the Operator synth which is pretty good. Altho the operator is only  a demo version. Also considering if it's worth getting the expansion packs for Pod farm. Metal shop and Bass expansion in particular.

If you get any of the toneports the Pod farm is included. You also have Gear box, but I prefer Podfarm.

I beg to differ slightly. I find the Subdub bass amp to be pretty kickass. Mind You it depends on what sort of metal You are playing tho.

Pod farm 2 is out. Looks like a bunch of BS to me, no new models or anything just a slightly different layout to add more instances of effects etc and its $35! Free depending on what hardware you have.

I was just fucking around with the Big Bottom model for bass a few moments ago. Switch the default cabinet to a 4x10 Bass Cab and trhen fucked around with various effects and eq's. Fuckin insane. I still favour the Subdub. It's real deep, heavy and bassy which blends in well with the guitars. I have just made one patch with the Subdub with the EQ set on to slap. So It sounds even heavier. I had to fck with the noise gate and comp to keep the sound level out of the red section. :headbang:

Just added the Powerpack to my arsenal. It is fuckin wicked. A few kick ass Amp mods and a nice selection of reverbs and compressors.  So in effect I now have Pod Farm platinum.  :headbang:

whatd they sting you for that?
I got PODplat also.
It really is a good proggie i reckon.
I dont think i will ever be converted from the real thing though. Im going to finish the guitars off this week for a song or 2 but am going with 2 tracks of real and 2 of POD for rythym. proly use real ones for fills and so called lead work. (lead isnt my thing) but gotta put some stuff in there.
Me thinks that blend will be a goodn.

$49 U.S.
I got the Metalshop, Fx junkie and classics with the 3 for 1 deal they had. I was only going for FX junkie and Metalshop but they had special on, by throwing the collector classics in. So I though fuckit I'll get the three. that was around $39U.S. I think.

Bass pack was the same price as the power pack. I paid fuck all for the pod farm cos it was a free download for a month.
