From the heart of Western Australia’s heavy scene comes Allocer – a five-piece death metal outfit that blends brutal riffs with mythological weight and narrative depth. Their latest release, Worship, dropped on March 24th and marks a defining moment in the band’s evolution: a tightly honed collection of tracks that hit with the force of a sledgehammer while offering far more than just sheer heaviness.
Rooted in the sonic fury of death metal, Worship weaves in elements of slam and melodic death to create a layered and relentless sound. The EP’s opening salvo, “The Scavenger’s Daughter,” premiered via Slam Worldwide, immediately announcing Allocer’s arrival as a band with both vision and precision. Across the record, ancient themes—particularly drawn from Greek mythology—are fused with a modern aggression, inviting listeners into a dense, atmospheric journey that rewards repeated listens.

The band’s formation is a story of persistence, friendship, and a shared desire to create something uncompromising. Frontman Joel Pears, having shifted from previous musical roles, sought to build a project that aligned more closely with the influences he was most passionate about. He found common ground with guitarist Grant Withers, and together they began shaping the band’s early sound. As the lineup took shape – with Hexen Panozzo on drums, long-time friend Lewis Dodson stepping in on bass, and most recently, Cam Moore rounding out the twin-guitar assault – Allocer solidified into the hard-hitting unit it is today.
Their first EP, The First Offering, laid the groundwork, followed by the single “Deadringer” and a debut interstate tour through Queensland. With Worship, they’ve taken a step further – both sonically and professionally – launching the release with a hometown show that confirmed the band’s growing presence and potential.
Now firing on all cylinders, Allocer is looking beyond Perth with the drive to push their brand of myth-infused death metal to new audiences across the country—and beyond.
