I am sure many of you are already aware of this, but the boys who created South Park, Parker and Stone have been threatened with death threats by Moslem nutball fuckwits again. In their controversial 200th and 201st episodes they take the piss out of everything they can, and religion is targetted too as usual. The religious figureheads are given a bit of stick, with Buddah doing lines of coke and Jesus downloading porn, but it is the fact that Parker and Stone have refused to be cowed by terrorist threats and have insisted on holding Mohammed up to ridicule too that is causing Islamic extremists to wet their sandy undies.
Although Comedy Central defied their wishes and censored both the image and the name of Mohammed right out of the show, that isn't enough for these Moslem crackpot fundamentalist fuckheads, and one group has posted pictures of a murdered filmmaker who criticised Islam, and even went so far as to post the home addresses of Parker and Stone in the hope that one of their retarded zealots wants to kill them in exchange for Martyrdom.
The whole policy of South Park is to hold EVERYTHING up to ridicule. No celebrity, no government and no relgion is immuned to their twisted humour and they hold to the concept of "rights to free speech" to the point of risking their lives. They challenge the concept that Islam is the only religion that has placed itself above ridicule, and insist that it is unfair that anyone should back down from saying and doing whatever they want about whoever and whatever they choose just because one group likes to kill people who do it.
These guys are smart, funny and in my opinion fucking heroes. It shows balls to do what they have done while the rest of the world hides in fear. Everyone should have so much guts, and if we all spoke out like they do these terrorist asspuppets would learn that their threats are just piss in the wind. So I want to go on the record here:

No, it was against the writers' wishes. They didn't want it censored, and neither should they. No one religion should be free from ridicule, over any others. Especially not the "Religion of Peace".

The 200th and 201st episodes were great, especially when you find out who Cartmans father was....fuck it was so funny....the whole "You're just repeating yourself" shit was hiliarious, considering both episodes were pretty much repeats of everything they have ever done...genius

Or try the Iranian government, they did have fatwa on salman rushdie. But at the end of the day unless you can get widespread circulation of your picture (like those danish newspaper cartoons) they probably wont even notice, try writing some anti islamic neverborn songs instead :P

I KNOW that there are a couple of Moslems who vist WF. They are good people. My neighbours on two sides are Moslem, never had a moment of trouble with any of them. I mean no offence to WFers or any other Moslems I have met on a personal level, but this topic is about standing behind the South Park boys in their quest to defend their rights to the free speech their constitution guarantees them. That's the big problem here, In the US censorship is actually against the laws as laid down by the founders of their country, but people allow it because of fear of Islamic Terrorists. It's wank.
Islam gets it way too easy around here anyway. We take the piss out of Christians regularly and I am always seeing "Jesus is a C--t" T-shirts, but Christians tolerate it despite how much it must sicken them. And yet you can't even MENTION Mohammed without the shit hitting the fan. I will take my chances that one of them will decide to declare Jihad on me :eyebrows: , but frankly I think the ones that I know of are smarter than that. The Moslems of the world are just going to have to develop a sense of humour about their religion, and I am happy as Hell to stand up and be counted as someone who believes in free speech in this country.

yep, and people like Theo van Gogh (murdered in amsterdam for making a movie critizing fundamentalist islams treatment of women ) and the danish cartoonists one of whom recently had to hide from an axe wielding fundmentalist muslim invading his home. On another note, it is illegal to wear burqas and head scarves in official buildings (so schools, unis, government, etc) in turkey which is a majority muslim country and the iranians allow jews freedom of religion in their country so long as they renounce zionism. Topsy turvy world.

I got two good friends at uni, ones a muslim and the other a christian (as well as a massive black metal fan, they must be more common than we think). Even though my views are the complete opposite of theirs, I don't care because they are genuinely nice people who I am happy to call friends. My problem has never been with people who practise religion, just with the fundamentalists and organisations, most notably the vatican after this massive child abuse came to light. Also, I fully support the south park boys, who I have an ever growing respect for; freedom of speech should always come before freedom of religion.

I think there needs to a line drawn with "free speech". In america free speech is a right..which means that any nutbag can say anything he wants ie. "God hates fags" or KKK guys....which I personally think is fucked up craziness. How about "free speech as long as it derogatory and violent against a certain persons/person"....
