Finally got around to converting my old VHS local metal library to digital, offering a whole new generation the chance to experience a different era in Perth metal history!!!!!!!!!
My collection starts from late 1997 and continues through till the present day.
I knew these vids would come in handy one day :headbang:

Hey disaster,
How/where do you get vcr tapes converted to digital? Is it expensive?
I have a few cremator gigs, an orpheous gig from memory and a ton of allegiance gigs i'd be keen to see again plus a shitload of old metal videos.

Hey!
I bought a 'Hi-Speed USB 2.0 DVD Creator' for $120.
It's basically a few cables that run audio and video from you VHS machine into you computer via USB and jack.
......and a basic piece of editing software that came with the cables.
I didn't know shit about how it all worked, so I just asked the dude at Tang computers to hook me up with the right stuff.
From there it was pretty self explanatory, even for a retard like me :headbang:

oh it was Leith then? yeah noticed Andy playing guitar, cant remember when all the changes happened there, our band used to play gigs with Vandium, and not sure with KIN or not, have realised i was drunk and fucked up alot in those days so its kinda hazey.
I did do some vocals for KIN in the studio at some point that never eventuated into much, cant even remember why.
Back to Marco though, twas a shame what happened to him, fuckn great guy. I liked him.
Will be and no doubt still is, sorely missed.

Yes great days, the songs live on. One day I will go through my old VHS', got quite a bit and also somewhere is the unreleased only Vanadium film clip for "The Damage Done", will be like going for a needle in a haystack. Will get onto it (one day!)...

Heh, I was at that Fear Factory gig in '01, I managed to fake my ID to get in as I was only 17 at the time. I scratched the 4 in '84 into a 1 and even though it looked absolutely fucking terrible and if the bouncer bothered to touch it he'd have clearly felt it had been tampered with, I still got in and it was fucking sweet.

True. I kind of miss stage diving. I remember a few Allegiance gigs where there where so many people on stage it was hard to see the band. I spoke them about it and they said it was great. Except when stuff got knocked over or someone would step on the effects pedals so the distortion would change to a clean tone, the guitarists would have to push their way though a sea of people while still trying to play.
Fuck they used to pull some decent crowds.

fuck i remember every gig we were doing, dudes and chicks were diving. all night. even before we started a song.
I remember doing one gig with Kin or Vandium cant remember what they were called at the time, at a hall in White gum valley, fuckn madness, heaps of chicks diving, it was going off. Ended up in the papers after it ended in an almost riot with dudes throwing shit at cop cars, boat flares going off etc.
some footage of that would be good, hahahaha, actually i think it was on the news also, not that there would be band footage, but something anyway.
I think maybe Chris talking with a journo from the ABC. Funny shit.

Sounds very similar to what Me, Cliff and Justin were trying to do. Until Paul came along and decided that he only wanted to do Smashing pumkins and Pearl jam type stuff. I was more inclined towards Priest,Sabbath,Maiden, Slayer,Sepultura, Metallica and Pantera style. Possibly mixing in some Pinkfloyd and Doors. As I was very much into weed at that time.
