Title: All I Wanted Was Just 1 Pepsi
Post by: Trolld on December 09, 2010, 03:03:14 AM
SUICIDAL TENDENCIES were never afraid of a little controversy. The godfathers of crossover thrash and creators of skate punk have dedicated their careers to delivering the middle finger salute to anyone who opposed their views (which included LA authorities who banned them for playing in the city for 6 years)

Playing their irrepressible blend of punk, thrash, and hardcore, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES are certainly true to their ideals of 'no rules.' Mike Muir's extreme sincerity and full of rage ravings have garnered the ST Army the world over. "In typical fashion the band was explosive in their playing with Mike running all over the stage delivering his lines. The whole building seemed to shake with everyone screaming as one." - Metal Army

Unbelievably influential, without SUICIDAL TENDENCIES you would not have the myriad of thrash metal and vicious hard-core bands that permeate the modern musical landscape. Delivering the fast-paced, aggressive and raw sound they pioneered, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES will be getting Cyco on their Australian tour next May?ST?.ST?.ST?.ST!

That was fucking unreal. I have never even really been a fan, but since I just moved to the city Im making up for all these years of missing gigs. Mind blowing! Being a body guard to my wheelchair bound mate in the pit was pretty mad, but good fun! Man that bass player can shred!

pretty cool crowd too. Different to the usual (naturally) but all in all a friendly, fun crowd just wanting to have fun. It wasnt that much different to a proper metal gig vibe really.

Either still here or just got back from over east again, I think they're also filming for the up-coming Suicidal Skate Team TV (http://www.facebook.com/suicidaltv?sk=info) special on Fuel TV Australia.

Quote
In May this year legendary Venice Beach skate-punk icons Suicidal Tendencies will embark on a world first project, combining a capital city national tour, three epic skate exhibition demo events (featuring some of Australia?s top skaters) and the production of a cyco new music video all in one package, to be televised nationally on Fuel TV in August and September this year.

Following the recent release of their first studio album in over 10 years, the tour and events will also coincide with the formation of the Suicidal Skate Team, consisting of some of Australia?s best underground skate talent, incorporating both veterans and fresh youth hand selected for their attitude, style and respect as well as their formidable skate skills.

The tour and events will form the majority of content for the upcoming Fuel TV series that will consist of six 5-minute ?spots? that will culminate in a 60-minute feature episode wrapping up the series. As well as featuring all the skate and live show content from this tour, the series will also delve into the core of the band, bring never before seen footage from the last 18 months touring across Europe and the USA, rare and powerful dialogue, blistering performances from the band and skaters, all packaged into a fast paced and visually explosive presentation that is sure to become widely regarded and hailed for many years to come.

With the first Skate event kicking off on Thursday the 12th of May, right before the first show of the tour, this never before attempted project will roll through the events and shows bringing the Suicidal lifestyle and reputation along with it, amazing skating and even better punk rock from the legends themselves, Suicidal Tendencies.

Not a lot needs to be said about the history and reputation associated with the band, their early rise to fame from the streets and backyards of Dogtown and their long standing career at the forefront of their game. Suicidal Tendencies have been instrumental in creating a style, sound and legacy that has influenced the lives of many hundreds of thousands of skaters and music fans the world over.
