triple j farewells Haugy from The Racket \m/

With devil horns raised, Andrew Haug (Haugy), will bid farewell to triple j's The Racket at the end of the year.

A champion of all things heavy, Haugy has undertaken 612 interviews for The Racket over the last 10 years; from Ozzy Osbourne, Mastodon and Iron Maiden to Slipknot and all of the big 4, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth.

"Thanks to triple j for what's been an amazing ride and privilege. But the biggest thank you goes to The Racket listeners for all their support and dedication to the Heavy Metal genre in its many forms. This show has never been about me, I'm just the lucky messenger spreading the word & I'll continue to do so."

Haugy will stay involved in the local metal scene and also maintain his grip on the sticks; drumming for the band Contrive. Tune into The Racket next Tuesday 6th December from 10pm - 1am for his final show.

triple j farewells the Queen of Requests - Rosie Beaton

After a decade of taking your requests, triple j's Rosie Beaton will wind up Super Request and farewell triple j at the end of the year.

Since taking her first request back in 2001, Rosie has become a certified triple j legend and a close to friend to listeners right around Australia. There's no doubt that she's loved them as much as they've loved her.

"I think the success of Super Request is thanks to the amazing music lovers who requested songs over the years," says Rosie.

"I've always made the show about the listeners - their stories and requests - and I really enjoy the daily interaction and programming. I've had the best time hosting Super Request. I'm going to miss it, but it's time for new opportunities."

To celebrate Rosie's final show, triple j is throwing a Super Request Super Farewell next Friday 9th December from 6-10pm, live at the Manning Bar at Sydney Uni. Some very special guests and friends of the show will drop by to send Rosie off in style. You can find more info on how to be part of the party at triplej.net.au
