Western Australia / Red Descending KINGDOMS Trailer & new song up!
« on: June 29, 2011, 07:37:26 PM »
Just under a month now until the new Red Descending album is released, we have created a short behind-the-scenes trailer..

Click HERE to check it out!

RED DESCENDING will be launching their second full length album "KINGDOMS"
on August 19th with special guests CHAOS DIVINE, ADVENT SORROW and THE ASCENT.

Three years since the unleashing of their critically acclaimed debut, Australia's RED DESCENDING return
with their second album 'KINGDOMS', an hour long passage through Symphonic Melodic Death Metal
expanding from where the first release 'WHERE DREAMS COME TO DIE' left off.

'KINGDOMS' is heavier and darker than its predecessor, with strong melodies woven amidst brutality.
Dark symphonic elements and both harsh and clean vocals create an atmosphere that can truly
take you on a journey through Kingdoms far and wide.

The release of 'KINGDOMS' will be celebrated on Friday 19th August 2011 at Amplifier Bar Perth,
and will be available for purchase from the same date.

RED DESCENDING UPDATE 2011

Following drummer JT's departure from Red Descending at the end of 2010 (he wanted to spend more time on his chicken farm)
we are pleased to welcome WF's very own WARNICK

2011 is set to be a big year for RedD, with recording already started on the second full length album entitled "KINGDOMS".

The album will consist of 11 tracks and last EXACTLY one hour long*

Kingdoms will involve a lot more progressive and black metal elements than the first CD Where Jeans Come to Dry  but will still have some massive orchestral arrangements and plenty of dual guitar melodies. Jesse from Claim The Throne is also set to perform guest vocals in a couple of the songs

Recording with the Prague Symphony Orchestra has also led to budget cuts in the photography department..

RedD look forward to playing with the new and improved line up (and with a real drum kit) very soon!!

*may not last one hour long

fuckin yehar! looking forward to sharing the stage with the other 2 cents not to mention seeing the 'filth!

This will be RedD's third gig of the year. We have really been pushing ourselves, hopefully we don't get too worn out on stage   :P

seriously though, we have been writing new material and will be playing some of that stuff at this gig. I'll hopefully have some recording information soon, assuming cabba isn't heading overseas for another 4 months  ;)

Jez you back on the WF eh?  :D

I just hope our next gig's thread gets more hits than this one..  :P

Crime is often a lower socio/ low education thing and in Australia, Aboriginals unfortunately make up a large proportion of that stat..

International / Re: So what the hell's happened to Wintersun?
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:34:21 PM »
News in from Finnish paper:

Quote
...During a search near Espoo railway station, Finland, the investigators found guitars and drums and they had showed these to be of Finnish band Wintersun, the last group to see Jari alive, while he was writing the second album. Max Power from Nuclear Blast, an investigative reporter, said that the investigators in the case thought these instruments belonged to Jari. They do not however.

Jari's family have been told that they need to decide how they want to proceed with Jar's second album; if they want to have a funeral for him without a CD or if they want to wait....

In Greater Helsinki a person has to be missing for seven years before they will be declared dead and given a death certificate. However, a record label can ask for a death certificate before the seven years are up if they go in front of a judge.

The police have said that they have 'persons of interest' (i.e. Ensiferum) in the case, but they are still not saying who.

we don't want it to look too good, otherwise it will turn into the Amplifier bar, pull some crowds, and they will start treating us like shit  >:(

The Frontline / WF Street Mag!

There has been a lot of talk recently about getting some new/more players to gigs/local metal. There is the computer savvy going on the WF/myspace/facebook and the people who have a radio listening to C.M. and A.M etc, I think the left out medium would be print. Think of little johnny red neck from Midland who doesn't have a ipad.
RedD was in a small underground New Zealand magazine a while back which gave me the idea.(see link below)

I don't have time or the speling to produce a magazine but thought I would put the idea out there anyway... The thing is to put METALLICA/ACDC on the cover but put local bands on the inside. Doesn't have to be a book or even in colour, but perhaps 12 pages or something

Trick the youngens/ACDC fans into a metal education!!

Unless you have a shitload of cash and you have no intention of seeing any of it again, then I think it's a great idea and I applaud your intentions, but if you're wanting to do this as a business venture, or even just to get a foot in the door, then you might want to think of simpler ways to get started.

some great points there.. even though it is fun to dream about fun stuff sometimes it is necessary getting back to reality and to spend time on other ventures which are easier to accomplish that will help metal too... ie. metal compilation CDs, underground mags, metal forums (like this one!)
It would be awesome if someone like Richard Branson liked Metal, then we would be sorted.

Metallica are reportedly playing at the Railway Hotel... someone should organise a party bus so they get a decent crowd..
