once upon a time this thread would already be 12 pages long by now... and completely changed topic at least 8 times.

Whilst it feels futile posting here, I'll do my small bit and say that I'll more than likely be at this gig  :headbang:

Ive said it before (Im sure if you trawled back through years worth of posts you'll see it somewhere) and I'll say it again... Chaos Divine RULE!!

Well, this clearly isn't working. Feels like an empty room with 3 people talking quietly in the corner amongst themselves. A noble effort in trying to get it back up and running Daz, but without people, its never going to work. So far I think 8-10 people have posted and 2 of them were new.

What's it for, out of curiosity?

metal-hipsters?

So its an exhibition for a guy that does nothing more than design band logos.... and he's not even going to be here?

Im not knocking the bands involved in this at all - any excuse for a gig. This one just seems a bit weird.

I would have preferred it if Christophe was here, but unfortunately he has other commitments, although is excited to have his work exhibited in Australia and still requested to have it presented despite his absence.

Other than that, how is promoting an artist's work and his book weird or any different to a band's album/merch/website/etc launch?

While they're not paintings, if you're too much of a meat head to appreciate Christophe's art and his part in black metal culture then as you said any excuse for a gig/chance to get drunk...fucking fuck yeah cunt.

Im far from a meat head thank you very much... I do appreciate art, but drawing stick-like, unreadable logos is a stretch... unless the art is in looking like Kyle Gass. Then he's Rembrandt...

This is a very cool concept, don't get me wrong, but usually when someone does an exhibition, they actually turn up for it.

WA Gigs / Re: PSYCHONAUT + 2 supports ROCKET ROOM 18th July

Wow, booking in advance hey?  :headbang:

I'll be there. Haven't been to the Rocket Room for AAAAGES! Mostly because it turned into a shit hole full of whores and cockheads listening to doof doof. Hopefully things like this change it back to what it should always have been.

Yeah, as most of you (especially the people in this thread) know, I created a facebook account and basically added anyone in the metal scene and people from WF purely so I could keep up with gig info. After 500+ friends I find myself getting invited to all sorts of uninteresting non-metal things, and its driving me insane. It was pretty much my replacement WF, albeit a poor one. You know, after over 10 years, and almost 8000 posts, WF became quite a large part of my life. Even more so with recent events in my life... all that (slightly) innocent e-flirting on here with a certain member many years ago has now blossomed into a relationship that's almost 3 years in and very much "the one". So thanks Daz... I owe it to you!

Its also interesting, and somewhat comforting that we can all pinpoint exactly what it was that killed forums in the first place. Its obviously no secret, but that Fuckerberg cunt has a lot to answer for.

Kind of weird to be honest. Last time I was posting on here I basically knew none of you. Now, since moving to Perth, Ive met heaps of you, and seen heaps of others around at gigs and that. Its lost its mystique, that's for sure. Still, good to see the old girl up and running again.

Holy shit.... we're back! Weird!

Very awesomely cool cover art. Cant wait for this launch!  :headbang:

pretty poor turnout unfortunately. Still, cool night. Finally got to see Khariot (and figure out how to say it). Fucking hell Mikey, you make Meshuggah seem like a 4:4 band. Mad drumming.

23
great to see a Perth band get signed. I have never seen them, but certainly heard their name around the traps. Also, a side note, I had no idea Roland did the Birds album. Very well produced record, so he clearly knows what he is doing.

For anyone that's missed it (an acceptable form of spam  8)):

Ok, so here's the thing - the upcoming Western Front Compilation CD is a not-for-profit promo album showcasing a heap of WA metal talent and a few eastern states bands as well. Thousands of them will be handed out at the Perth Soundwave show, and as such will be massive exposure for the bands on it, and the local metal scene in general.

Wade has gone to a lot of effort to collaborate with the bands, sort out the cd and organise the fundraising shows and the launch for it. He doesn't deserve to be out of pocket for his galant efforts so get your arse down to the Civic hotel this Friday and support the cause, especially the people too weak to make it to the first fundraiser.

If this goes without problems, the idea was for next year to make it an even bigger thing, and to have them circulated at every Soundwave around the country. So if you are in a metal band, even if you're not on the disc this time, support the scene and maybe it will be your music getting stuffed into the hand of thousands around the country.
If you like any of said bands, or Australian metal in general, then you too should join the cause. All you have to do is attend a gig, you'll get to see a bunch of great bands for your troubles.

seeya there Daz!  :headbang:

I've been thrashing this album with high anticipation lately. Cant wait. And V-People... if you are reading this, please play Stare Into The Night! That intro alone is worth it (and its my ringtone haha)
