+1 on the Ragdoll recommendation. I'm a cat person, but our cat is the closest thing to a dog.

He plays fetch, likes being roughed up, but super docile. Indoor cat, follows you around everywhere. Best cat ever!

Only negative is the ridiculous amounts of fur.

I posted this on twitter and got a reply from Hatebreed saying they're not playing Soundwave, guess we'll find out tomorrow :P

Yeah they have these weird arse glasses you have to wear. It's like polarised sunnies - the weird colours effect.. when you're not looking at the screen that is.
Looking at the screen without the glasses it just looks slightly blurry  :hmm:

I read somewhere that a small percentage of cinemas have been fitted out with the new IMAX technology. By the looks of Hoyts Cannington, they have a dedicated cinema for it. Big IMAX sign outside the door.

I saw the 15 minute preview last night, and agree that it looks pretty Disney.. I hated the look of the Na'avi.

As soon as the footage changed to parts of the movie on Pandora though, they were much more believable and less gay. The environments are insanely detailed.. and the 2D trailer doesn't do it justice :).

I'm not overly excited about the story of the movie, but holy shit was the 3D and CG side of things amazing!!! A few bits from the trailer such as when he is "jacked in" to the alien body, is very cool. Awesome clever use of the 3D for trippy-drugged out effect.

So yeah, while it looks a little on the gay side, The 3D aspect is going to be great.

Really hanging out for this.. haven't read much of this thread or others as to not spoil it. The original short by Neil Blommkamp (sp?) was really cool.

On the topic of Avatar, I'm going to the preview this Friday where they're showing 16 mins of the film.. can't wait!! :D

General discussion / Re: Myspace and Artwork help
« on: August 07, 2009, 05:16:15 PM »
Hey Grim,

I'm currently looking into working with a friend of mine on the possibility of being able to offer professional myspace layouts. I can provide professional art direction / artwork / graphic design services though. You can see some of my work at: http://www.ninness.com.au as well as my work with my partner at http://www.forksopendoors.com
If you guys are still writing material on the Cthulhu mythos (or otherwise) I'd be really keen on creating imagery for that subject matter.

We're currently booked up until the end of August for starting any work, but more than happy to offer any help and advice obligation free!

I've recently finished work on Claim The Throne's Ale Tales release, probably my best work to date I think... can't wait til the guys can unveil it :D.

If you have any questions at all, as I said I'm happy to give advice free of charge, and obligation free. This goes for anyone else reading this too.
Email is: brendan [at] forksopendoors [dot] com

Cheers!

The song that converted me to liking Mastodon was "Hearts Alive" on Leviathan. Such a cool concept album!

I don't think I'd bother going to the BDO though.

This is one of the coolest flash games I've played, mainly for the art style.. but it's pretty 'in-depth' for a flash game! Classic platformer/adventure style thing
