The Frontline / Transformers and Starwars crossover/mashup story. 2
« on: April 17, 2021, 10:32:12 PM »
A New Threat and the new breed.
30 years have past since the Battle of Endor. The First Order has risen from the fallen Empire and seeks to eliminate the New Republic. The resistance which is backed by the Republic, led by General Leia Organa and assisted by Optimus Prime and the Autobots. Who have worked with the Republic and Leia over the years to maintain peace and stability in the entire galaxy. However Luke Skywalker has gone missing. Both Leia and the First Order are searching for him. But unlike the First Order who have risen from the Empire and become a formidable force against the Republic, the Resistance and possibly the Autobots. The Decepticons are still without their leader Galvatron and have become a disorganised mess of eternal bickering and infighting. Cyclonus with the help of Scourge and the Sweeps struggle to keep the Decepticons in line and together, it is ultimately futile. However Cyclonus has had luck in recent times controlling the Decepticons. As they have eventually relocated back to Mustafar and set up a temporary base with an abundant energy source and allowing Cyclonus, Scourge and the sweeps to search for Galvatron.
The Eravana, a large Baleen-class heavy freighter is casually cruising in space. It is piloted by Han Solo and Chewbacca, even since Han seperated from Leia. They fly over the volvanic planet of Mustafar. In the control room Chewbacca glances a the planet and howls to Han. Han" Mustafar hey Chewie? Isn't where the Constructicons were harvesting the lava to make their energon cubes?" Chewbacca nods and hums. Han" Lets have a look. Zoom the camera on their mining facility." Chewbacca presses a few buttons and activates a monitor. Showing what is left of the Decepticons  mining facility. Han" I think thats the same area that Vader and Obiwan fought. According to Luke." Chewbacca makes a noise. Han" Yes Chewie. The Dinobots and Omega Supreme sure gave that place a good trashing. Wait!" As Chewbacca and Han study the decepticons former mining facilty. Han notices a couple of Constructicons doing repair work. With a few other Decepticons near by. Han" I don't like the look of this Chewie. We better get out of here before they spot us and contact Optimus Prime." But Chewbacca howls at another radar screen. Han takes a look and gets excited. Han" The Falcon? We found her. Lets collect her and get out of here." Han locks the controls of the Millenium Falcon and proceeds to scoop the ship up, like a whale scooping plankton. Before leaving the Mustafar system.
On Mustafar the Constructicons have begun repairing the damage to their energy extraction station. But without a leader progress is rather sluggish and a few decepticons are fighting amongst themselves. Soundwave walks up to where the Constructicons are working and starts acting like Starscream. Soundwave" Decepticons needs energy. Increase efficiency or be terminated." Longhaul glares at Soundwave. Longhaul" Blow it out Your exhaust Soundwave. We take orders from Galvatron and  Cyclonus. Not You." Soundwave" Soundwave superior. Constructicons inferior." Bonecrusher becomes agitated and so does Hook. Bonecrusher" Who are You calling inferior?" Hook" Nobody would follow an uncharasmatic bore like You." Rumble and Frenzy jump out of Soundwaves chest. Rumble" Hey.Nobody calls Soundwave unchrosomatic." Frenzy" Yeah let take em." The constructicons try to form Devastator as Rumble and Frenzy activate pile drivers. but a laser blast out of nowhere hits Devastator/Constructicons during mid combining and they separate. Out of nowhere Cyclonus, Scourge and the Sweeps land.  Cyclonus" Enough of this!" All Decepticons stop in their tracks and focus their attention on Cyclonus, Scourge and the Sweeps. Cyclonus" Once we Decepticons  were a powerful force in the galaxy rivaling only the Sith and their Empire. Now all we do is fight amongst ourselves. Is this the fate of the Decepticons, to be a disorganised mess?"  Scourge" And now a new Military organisation has risen out of the Empire. Known as the First Order." Sweep1" Yes and they are fast becoming a powerful threat against the New Republic, which was created by the Rebels and the Autobots." Cyclonus" Yes. The First Order. We must try and find Galvatron. Before the first Order gains total domination of the Galaxy."
Meanwhile Han and Chewbacca have fled the Aravana in the Falcon after a brief confrontation with a couple of Gangs Han owed money to. But they have 2 fugitives,by the names of Rey and Finn  as well as a BB8 droid  on board. After things  are calm Han turns to Rey and Finn. Han" Fugitives huh?" Rey" Finn is with the Resistance. I'm just a scavanger." Han" Right..Lets see what You've got." Chewbacca howls. Han" You rest. But first try and contact Optimus Prime about Mustafar." Finn" Optimus Prime? Who's that?" Han" I'll explain later. First lets see the map BB8 is carrying." BB8 projects the map to Luke Skywalker. But it's only part of a map. Han fills Rey and Finn in on the story of how Luke disappeared and how a student of Luke's  turned to the Darkside. Rey" The Jedi were real." Han" I used to wonder about that myself. I thought it was a bunch of mumbo jumbo. A magical power holding together the power of good and evil. The darkside and light side of the force. The crazy thing is it's all true. The force Jedi, it's all true." Finn and Rey are in awe. Finn" And what about Optimus Prime? Who is he?" Han pauses for a moment. Han" Well this is even crazier. Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots and a very great leader at that too." Finn & Rey" Autobots?" Han" The Autobots are giant robots with real feelings and emotions like us." Finn" Droids with emotions?" Han" They're not droids and they get offended by that. Especially the Decepticons." Rey" Decepticons?" Han" The Decepticons are evil and are pretty much to the Autobots what the First order is to us." Finn" That is crazy. Robots/Machines that think for themselves and have thoughts and emotions. As well as being good and evil. Even the first order doesn't have that technology." Han" Thats only half of it. Both Autobots and Decepticons can transform into land or air based vehicles and in some cases robotic animals. Both our wars were intertwined until Galvatron became lost in space. They became inactive ever since. Until we spotted them on Mustafar moments before taking back the falcon." Chewbacca rejoins the rest of the crew. Han" Any luck Chewie?" Chewbacca shakes his head. Han" Well we have to get to Takodana and find Maz Kanata . She'll help us get BB8 to the resistance and make contact with Optimus Prime." The falcon makes it's way to Takodana.
Cut to Starkiller base. Kylo Ren and General Hux are standing before a holocron of Leader Snoke. Elaborating that the droid will soon be in the hands of the Resistance and they will find the last Jedi. Hux informs Snoke that the weapon is ready to be used. Snoke orders him to oversee preparations.  Snoke and Kylo determin that theres been an awakening with the force and the droid is in the hands of Kylo's father. Han Solo.
Back on Mustafar. Soundwave is operating a console and finds Starkiller base. Soundwave" The first order has a powerful new weapon. Much like the Empire's death star. It is the Starkiller base." Scourge and Cyclonus have a look. Cyclonus" I don't beleive it. Always relying on super weapons, these flesh creatures. Might as well do a scan of the base. The Constructicons might be able to build something similar." Soundwave does a scan of the planet and finds something like a giant robot trapped in the ice. Under closer inspection it turns out the robot is Galvatron. Cyclonus" Well soundwave?" Soundwave" I have found Galvatron. He is trapped under layers of ice." The Decepticons rejoice. Cyclonus" Excellent Soundwave. Scourge spy the planet." Scourge" I've locked onto Galvatron and he lives." Cyclonus" He shall lead us again. Scourge, Sweeps and the Stunticons. We leave immediatly. The rest of You stay here." With that Cyclonus,Scourge, the Sweeps and the Stunticons leave for Starkiller base.

The Frontline / Transformers and Starwars crossover/mashup story.
« on: October 25, 2020, 11:09:08 PM »
A year ago I started an epic Starwars/ transfromers mashup story. Posting updates on facebook in the notes section. But as of the november. They are removing the notes feature from Facebook. So I decided to post it all in here. I did one last year. Mashing up the original starwars trilogy with the G1 transformers cartoon. But now I'm doing a second one with the sequel trilogy. But anyway here's the first one.

Ask Ormsby / Blackouts Modular preamp.
« on: May 15, 2011, 11:08:28 PM »
Anyone heard of this?

http://www.seymourduncan.com/blackouts/

Quote
The genre-defining crunch and wail of modern heavy rock guitar often comes from active guitar pickups, which have a built-in, battery-powered preamp epoxy-sealed into a stark black casing. It's a distinctly modern sound married to a patently modern look. Now, for the first time, you can make any pickup an active pickup, even pickups with a more traditional look.

Seymour Duncan has taken its award-winning, low-noise Blackouts? balanced differential preamp out of the pickup and integrated it with a high-quality volume pot. Blackouts? Modular Preamp is an ingenious way to get that high-gain, active guitar sound with any passive four-conductor pickup. Simply by swapping a volume pot for a Blackouts Modular Preamp volume pot, you can get active pickup performance with a more classic look.

To capture the precise tone and performance of Original Blackouts? pickups, Seymour Duncan created the specially voiced Blackouts? Coil Pack, a replacement humbucker designed specifically for use with the Blackouts Modular Preamp. The Coil Pack will be available as a stand-alone neck or bridge humbucker or in a two-humbucker set packaged together with the Blackouts Modular Preamp.

Connecting the Coil Pack or any pickup to Blackouts Modular Preamp is an incredibly simple, solderless procedure, thanks to the same bare-wire Lockdown connector stations used in the Seymour Duncan Liberator? Solderless Pickup Change System. Installing pickups only requires a mini-screwdriver to secure pickup and battery leads into the rock-solid screw-clamp connectors.

General discussion / Bikie raid too close to home.
« on: March 01, 2011, 06:13:37 AM »
This is literally just down the road from where I live. The police chopper was hovering over their head quarters for about half an hour on friday night.

Quote
POWERFUL high-grade explosives have been seized from a bikie clubhouse, sparking police concerns of an escalating war between rival gangs the Rock Machine and the Rebels.

Senior police said expert intelligence suggested enough explosive detonators and industrial-strength powergel to demolish a small building had been uncovered during a raid of the Rock Machine's new Myaree headquarters Friday night. Some were secreted in a roof cavity.

Officers, including the heavily-armed Tactical Response Group, stormed the McCoy St building at 7pm, uncovering 68 explosive detonators and 55 sticks of powergel along with an unlicensed sawn-off shot gun during a search of the premises and a nearby car.

Police will allege that one Rock Machine member, a 42-year-old man, was found in possession of 34 detonators, with 54 sticks of powergel, an explosive commonly used in the mining industry, found in his car.

End of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar.

A stick of powergel, 34 other detonators and a sawn-off shotgun were allegedly found at the clubhouse. A safety fuse, ammunition and steroids were also located, police said.

Nineteen members were arrested at the clubhouse after police busted in on the gang's Friday night ``church night''.

A 42-year-old man was questioned at length and will be charged with the unlawful possession of explosives. The remaining people were released without charge.

Det-Insp Paul McMurtrie said the tension between the Rock Machine and the Rebels was well documented and police would maintain a heightened alert in the wake of the explosives find.

``Our early intervention (on Friday night) demonstrated that we may have averted a serious criminal incident happening. I won't speculate what that could have been,'' Det-Insp McMurtrie said.

``My briefing from our explosive experts is it's certainly enough explosives to demolish a small building and cause extreme loss of life.

``As with all outlaw motorcycle clubs, they recruit to strengthen their numbers and their resolve because as a criminal organisation it's about turf, it's about drug distribution and criminal activity.''

Det-Insp McMurtrie said police would investigate the origin of the explosives, including if they had come from WA mine sites or through fly-in, fly-out workers.

Several houses in Perth's southern suburbs with links to Rock Machine members were also searched as part of the operation and evidence seized.

But police stressed they feud was isolated to the two gangs and did not believe the greater community was at risk of violent attacks.

``There is no intelligence to suggest that this group has any planned violence against the general community,'' Det-Insp McMurtrie said.

The Rock Machine, a Canadian-based gang, emerged in WA about two years ago. The club has about 20 known members and a new clubhouse in Myaree.

Police say the club is at loggerheads with the Rebels, which has about 50 members and four clubhouses in WA, and officers have been monitoring their movements for several months.

Tensions between the two gangs have heightened, with police announcing in November last year that they were investigating whether a tit-for-tat feud between the two clubs was to blame for the firebombing of a Bibra Lake tattoo parlour, owned by a Rebels bikie.

In late January, Rebels and Rock Machine members were involved in a fight at The Clink nightclub in Fremantle.

The next day the violence spiked when a Spearwood tattoo parlour linked to a member of the Rock Machine was ransacked by a group of bikies.

The Rock Machine, which has links to the Bandidos, is notorious for a violent turf war with the Hells Angels in Canada between 1994 and 2001, which left 162 people dead, including an 11-year-old boy who was killed when a car bomb exploded in the street where he was playing.

``The Rock Machine is a reasonably new outlaw gang in this state and their criminal antecedence is known throughout the world... They are known for extreme violence and there have been many murders associated with this group,'' Det-Insp McMurtrie said.

Sound Advice / Anyone heard of or used a V Machine?
« on: January 26, 2011, 04:58:38 AM »
I picked up one of these at Megamusic a couple of weeks ago and it's pretty awesome. It sounds good and it's pretty simple to use.
It has a few pre installed plugins. But you can also install Your own keyboard VST plugins. In fact thats the general idea behind the V machine. To load the VST pluggins into an external device to reduce the CPU usage. As well as using it live.

These videos tell the Real truth about Schapelle Corbys case and how it was covered up. But I'll leave it for You guys to watch and make up Your own minds.  I personally think it's highly logical.

The music is a bit gay though.

Ask Ormsby / Mike Rutherfords Shergold Double neck guitar kit.
« on: August 11, 2010, 07:44:59 AM »
Ever seen this before Perry?
Quote
Before you email me asking where you can get one of these monster Shergolds, they are exceedingly rare! Mike has four "halves" (One 4 string bass; Two twelve strings; and a six string with single coil pickups - now owned by the homepage) One other natural finish six string top was made for Mike probably by Roger Giffen.
A second pair was made in "boot polish" brown in a 6/12 configuration and was given to Dale Newman. This item was recently sold at auction.
That is the sum total of these models made.

All stories of Mike having a four neck ambidextrous guitar (Shergold or otherwise) are untrue (this occasionally does the rounds - search Google Groups for the latest version), despite those people who maintain that they saw the flight cases etc, it is an urban myth.

The Shergold/Rutherford Custom Guitars pictured at The Farm, 30th June 2000
The Shergold Homepage was granted access to the clip together Shergolds' at the Genesis owned recording studio, The Farm, in June 2000. Read about it here.
The Homepage also now owns the original six string top section of the clip-together set. Details of this and the other Shergolds in the Homepages' collection can be found here.

To get the low-down from the man himself, we've have transcribed a 1977 interview with Mike from British music magazine 'Beat Instrumental' (no longer running) which was reprinted by Shergold as promotional material.
Mike has also written a review of the Marathon 6 string for a magazine, and of course, appears prominently in the Genesis Tour Programmes...

The Frontline / Black Metallers belittled in GoldFrapp video
« on: June 12, 2010, 08:53:20 AM »
This Video appeared on Rage just a few minutes ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSdZAkA4VpA
It's from some retro 80's techno outfit by the name of Goldfrapp. Which has a bunch of blackmetal dudes doing aerobic excersizes. The video itself is pretty much a cheesy rippoff from olivia Newton Johns Physical. I view this as a direct insult to Blackmetaller and Metal heads in general.

The Frontline / Anyone else have to live with the Corella plagues?
« on: June 06, 2010, 09:28:42 AM »
Over the last few months we have had a large ever growing plague of Corellas taking over the Myaree area. Every night at about 5.30Pm these birds floke into the tall gum trees on the corner of Marmion street and Northlake road. Now they have spread into our backyard trees aswell as the gum tress of Melville Reserve. This pic below show what us residents have to put up with EVERY Night. Does anyone else have the same problem?

General discussion / Gatchaman the Movie?

It looks like there might be a Gatchaman the Movie. Better known in the west as Battle of the Planets(GForce). Anyone over 33 would remember this cartoon. Hopefully this doesn't fall through.

[Update: Forget about the crappy snapshot poster that was taken back in March. Imagi's creative director Felix Ip has posted a better quality version of it and a new illustration at his blog site. Awesome design! The only difference from the old version is the year of release has shifted from 2010 to 2011. I look forward to seeing the rest of the team in their own poster.]

Over the past weekend at the 2009 Tokyo International Anime Fair, someone who attended the event has taken a snapshot picture of a poster on display for Imagi Studios' Gatchaman from the Tatsunoko's booth and posted it up on a Japanese Gatchaman fan's blog. It offers a first CG-fied look at Joe Asakura, the second-in-command of the superhero ninja team and although I'm not all too familiar with the original series, I must say the character design on him looks really cool. For another take on the character design, go here.

As far as I'm aware, it seems the current status of the action animated film remains uncertain. There were reports a few months back on the financial problems affecting Imagi and there is still no official word of a director onboard after Kevin Munroe (TMNT) dropped out during production last year. Personally, my fingers are crossed that the project doesn't fall into development hell and everything pans out.

A release date has been set to 2010.

It's pretty much Powermetal, altho there is a couple of songs about Christmas which worries me a bit. There is even a cover of a Christmas carrol.

I think I may have given Rod, Dyson and a few others some Ammo. :-[

Has anyone tried this synth pluggin?
I picked it up 2 weeks ago. Sounds fuckin awesome. It's a VST pluggin based on the Jupiter 8 synthesiser of the early 80's.
I have a fairly old Casio CTK-530 that I plug into the PC via an Edirol UM-2 MIDI adapter. I pretty much use the casio as a MIDI control keyboard.

Well I just had a run in with some dickhead just about an hour ago. The cunt was tailgating me along marmion street. So I did the usual thing and hit the brakes but the asshole continued. I manage to lose him but just before northlake road he caught up with me and dished out some abuse. Threatening to punch my face in. Unfortunaly I didn't have a camera on me otherwise I would have got the number plate of his car and reported the incident to the police. Altho I would love to kill the prick. Getting into fights these days is not worth it. You either end up in hospital badly injured or you end up in the slammer for causing assault(One punch laws and all.). Karma will get the fucker anyway.

Anyone see Internal Nightmare on Spicks and Specks.
They played a few well known pop songs in their own brutal style. Best version of Sweet home Alabama ever. :headbang:

General discussion / Only in Australia!

ONLY AUSSIES

Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for A Belgian beer, then on the way home, grabbing an Indian curry or A Turkish kebab, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

Oh and..... Only in Australia .... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.

Only in Australia ... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in Australia ... do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries and a DIET coke.
Only in Australia ... do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters.
Only in Australia ... do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.

NOT TO MENTION.....

3 Aussies die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue.

58 Aussies are injured each year by using sharp knives instead of screwdrivers.

31 Aussies have died since 1996 by watering their Christmas tree while the fairy lights were plugged in.

8 Aussies had serious burns in 2000 trying on a new jumper with a lit cigarette in their mouth.

A massive 543 Aussies were admitted to Emergency in the last two years after opening bottles of beer with their teeth.

and finally.........

In 2000 eight Aussies cracked their skull whilst throwing up into the toilet.

General discussion / Strong Mint might be good for Sinus Headaches.
« on: July 04, 2009, 10:45:37 PM »
If anyone on here suffers from sinus and sinus headaches. I think I have accidently stumbled upon something that might help.
I get hayfever and Sinus headaches every now and then too. When I get a sinus headache it's bad. I had one last night when I was watching the telly. But when I started eating some darkchocolate infused with peppermint oil. The sinus headache seemed to clear up a bit. So my theory is that a really strong mint would help to clear the sinus headaches.
