« on: August 21, 2009, 02:09:22 AM »
Hey WF peeps... we've recently got ourselves a digital set top box but no wall point in the wall to plug it into, so the reception is patchy.

Wondering if there is anyone out there with the expertise to install a wall point, hook up to the antenna on the roof etc

We will pay in booze or cash.  8)

PM me!

International / GOREFEST Call It Quits... Again
« on: June 16, 2009, 04:06:01 PM »
Dutch extreme metallers GOREFEST have called it quits. The band have issued the following statement:

"'Gorefest discover internet porn, quit.' OK, that's not entirely true, we knew about the porn all along. But, after two albums, both of which we're hugely proud of, and about a hundred shows, all of them memorable in their own way, the question that remained for us was: what's next? The answer can be short: nothing. La Muerte and Rise To Ruin are two albums with which we've expanded, and indeed completed our body of work to our full satisfaction. Barring one or two exceptions, all the shows we've done since we decided to reform sometime in 2004 have been tremendously enjoyable. So why quit? Pretty simple, really: Every ride comes to an end. This is ours."

 :'(

Spewing ! ... But I am glad i finally got to see them perform @ UFTG '06 & at least they went out on a high note this time on the brilliant "Rise To Ruin" album.

Check it out if you can find it....awesome groovey death metal  :headbang:

International / Dimmu Borgir Comic !!
« on: May 06, 2009, 03:54:26 PM »
Terminal Press and Nuclear Blast Records have teamed up for DIMMU BORGIR: Dark Fortress comics.

This is the first in a series of books influenced by the lyrical, artistic and musical concepts from Nuclear Blast's polarizing roster of bands translated into the comic medium by Terminal Press teams.

Three reluctant men are chosen to quest to the dark fortress in a desperate attempt to protect their land from a growing evil. Despite a legend warning that the harsh land built upon lava fields is actually the gateway to Hell, they make their way across the treacherous path, encountering horrors, madness and death along the way. The three men will either survive the journey and learn the secret behind the legend of the dark fortress, or meet a most gruesome demise.

"I am artistically influenced and more passionate about metal music than any other genre or medium" says Terminal Press publisher and writer Brian Ferrara. "This is a project that I have always wanted to do and have thought about for years. I wanted to bring metal bands into comics in a way that would do them justice. These are books for fans of the bands, but they will also be able to stand on their own."

Dimmu Borgir: Dark Fortress is written by Brian Ferrara (Silent Assassin, Debbie Does Dallas), with art by Narek Gevorgian (Silent Assassin, Tell Them Johnny Wadd Is Here).

A Dimmu Borgir: Dark Fortress preview book containing original artwork and pin-ups created specifically for this edition will be available as a San Diego Comic Con Exclusive at the Nuclear Blast Records booth (#116).

The limited edition print run will only be available at the convention and through http://www.terminalpress.com

Dimmu Borgir: Dark Fortress will be available later this year from Terminal Press.

Tura New Music presents

Club Zho 83
Tuesday 7 April 2009
The Ellington Jazz Club
191 Beaufort Street, Perth
8pm  ?  $15 / $10 door sales

PIVIXKI (MELB)
PIVIXKI is the new project from pianist Anthony Pateras and drummer Max Kohane, fusing breakneck pianistic density with virtuosic grind drumming. Pateras is something of a musical chameleon, releasing experimental concert works on Tzadik, electro-acoustic brutality with Robin Fox on Editions Mego and performing regularly in his renowned trio Pateras/Baxter/Brown. Kohane is an Australian grind drumming savant, currently playing with Agents of Abhorrence & Cut Sick, and producing hip-hop under the name CRUMBZ. Formally known as Maxximal Patterorrist, the band has performed at The Make It Up 10th Anniversary at ABC Melbourne, and the What is Music? Festival at Carriageworks in Sydney.  PIVIXKI have just completed their debut album with legendary producer Casey Rice and will be touring Europe during October 2009.

Plus a special set with Perth sax hero Jamie Oehlers.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00h3ky2#

Also available on their Myspace page

It's pretty cool ! ... more melodic (especially the vocals). but it seems a natural progression from Blood Mountain.

Can't wait to hear the whole album  :headbang:
