Perth's CHAOS DIVINE are without peer in Australian heavy music.

Leading audiences and listeners through a journey of uncompromising arrangements, crushing heavy riffs and soaring melodies, the band has well and truly immersed themselves in a realm of sound and style matched by few and admired by many.

With a suite of industry accolades, national and international tours and a recent appearance at the 2014 Soundwave Festival under their belt, the fierce five-piece has spent the best part of the past two years carefully crafting their eagerly awaited follow-up to 2011’s The Human Connection - the group's critically acclaimed second studio album branded by many as a benchmark in modern progressive metal.

In 2014 the band returns with Soldiers, the crushing first single from their forthcoming third studio album. Mixed and mastered by renowned east-coast producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect), the new single delivers a bold, aggressive and mature step-change to an already proven formula that’s sure to ignite a spark among audiences both new and old, near and far.

Soldiers will be released through Firestarter Music on October 31.

International / Textures part ways with Vocalist...
« on: January 22, 2010, 02:36:31 AM »
from Metalstorm:

Vocalist Eric Kalsbeek has left Textures to focus on his job and his family. Due to Eric leaving Textures the release date for the follow up of Silhouettes has been pushed back to the beginning of 2011. The following statement was issued:

"I decided to quit Textures. My life changed, priorities shifted. I can't cope with the heavy touring and the time investment anymore. I need to focus on my job and family. I need to take a few steps back. I've had six beautiful years with the band, did loads of amazing shows, made tons of new friends and created some mind-blowing music. I'm going to miss the guys, and of course you, the fans. I know Textures will continue to conquer the world and give you all great, heavy and awesome music. I wish my successor all the best. I will keep on making music, but something totally different, much more low-profile. Maybe we will meet again. Eric out."

The band is currently auditioning a possible replacement singer and hope to announce him in the coming months. The band states: "We will miss Eric a lot.. We had the greatest times together and these will live on in eternity.. Eric, you rock!"

General discussion / James Cameron's Avatar - new trailer
« on: August 21, 2009, 05:55:00 PM »
A new trailer was released on the net yesterday for the new hyped JC movie 'Avatar'. It co-incides with 'Avatar Day' which is happening around the world today (Friday Aug 21) where a small 15 minute clip of the movie will be shown in some select IMAX theaters.

Reaction to the trailer have been very mixed. To me, it just looks like the makings of a sci-fi version of a pixar movie - far too much easy to spot CGI.

I hope it delivers.

General discussion / District 9 - may contain spoilers
« on: August 16, 2009, 05:15:17 PM »
so i saw this movie yesterday and thought it was fuckin amazing. Perfect blend of filmstyles of documentary, action and even some good ol' gore thrown in there. I really liked how PJ didnt tame down the action/deaths to make it fit a PG-13 audience, cause some parts are fuckin brutal.

easily best sci-fi movie since T2 for me.

opinons?

Up for sale is a custom built effect pedal board and aluminum hard case. This was built only around a year and a half ago by the blue cat case company in Queensland from my order for a custom spec case and is in excellent condition.

pic below of the same case (not the exact same size as mine) from the blue cat website:

The pedal board is carpeted and velcro ready and the hard aluminium outer case comes with removable lid, 4 sturdy steel twist lock catches and heavy duty handles on all 4 sides. The case is made from quality aluminum and is great for touring and protecting valuable effect pedals or other gear. This could also double up for transporting other musical equipment as the inner pedal board is removable with handles on each end. the pedal board usable carpeted surface space measures 84cm x 39cm. This size was tailored specifically for me when i ordered it and is a great size for fitting on combo of a multi-effect unit, 1 or 2 wahs/pedals and plenty of room left for smaller pedals.

$220 ono
