NO SLEEP TIL, is a national touring festival that will deliver a mix of the best international and local acts from the legendary to the up and comers.

Leading the charge for this historic event is seminal thrash-metal act MEGADETH, who will be performing their now-classic release RUST IN PEACE in its entirety! Those lucky enough to witness Mustaine and co in action when last here in 2009 will attest that Megadeth are in their career best form, making this a once in a lifetime experience you don?'t want to miss!

As musically impressive as they are entertaining, punk rock stalwarts NOFX are one of the few within their genre that have been able to remain creatively relevant throughout their career. Armed with a back catalogue that boasts as many hits as a backyard-boxing match, NOFX are, as always, guaranteed to deliver each and every night.

Fiercely loyal to their hometown of Boston, MA, everyone?'s favourite workiing-class heroes DROPKICK MURPHYS, are now something of a household name in Australia wit h their socially-aware punk rock anthems accompanying the last two years?' worth of AFL coverage, and the countless sold-out shows they?'ve played down under in the past!

Fresh off the US and UK festival circuit, home grown metalcore heroes, PARKWAY DRIVE are heading up the strong local contingent of artists involved in No Sleep Til. With their recent album Deep Blue crash tackling the national ARIA charts at number 2, and a huge run of sold-out shows around the country, the Byron Bay collective has cemented their position as one of Australia?'s dominant musical exports.

It?'s taken more than thirty years, but trailblazing pop-punk quartet DESCENDENTS (MELBOURNE, SYDNEY, BRISBANE only) are finally bringing their hugely influential sounds to Australian shores. Original members Milo Aukerman and Bill Stevenson will be teaming up with long-time band mates Stephen Egerton and Karl Alvarez. It?'s been a painfully long wait to get these guys here...you?'ll be kicking yourself if you miss them. Make sure you catch the self-confessed "nerdsome foursome" at the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane shows.

After their 2008 sophomore effort Homesick took the world by storm, A DAY TO REMEMBER?'S (ADELAIDE, MELBOURNE, SYDNEY, BRISBANE only) blend of down-tuned metalcore and sing-along pop punk has become one of the hottest commodities in live music today. With their yet to be titled third record hitting shelves this October, the Floridian five-piece are shaping up to be one of the No Sleep Til Festival?'s highlights!

For more than two decades US metal troupe GWAR have been shocking audiences all over the world, so it's about time Australia and New Zealand was able to witness the bloody carnage first hand. Throughout their illustrious - and often controversial - career, Gwar have been nominated for a Grammy Award on two separate occasions, while their theatrical stage show has been able to remain relevant to audiences young and old by re-creating a slew of contentious political and social issues.

Since releasing their debut full-length Goddamnit in 1998, ALKALINE TRIO have been at the forefront of the modern day punk movement, with the group's hard-rocking tunes providing the perfect musical backdrop for iconic front man Matt Skiba's often harrowing lyrics. Breaking through to the mainstream with 2001's From Here To Infirmary, Skiba, bassist/co-vocalist Dan Andriano and powerhouse drummer Derek Grant have gone from strength to strength, with each of their subsequent studio efforts winning over fans and critics alike. A band not to be missed!

Sweden?'s darkest sons KATATONIA will join metalcore favourites ATREYU (ADELAIDE, MELBOURNE, SYDNEY, BRISBANE only), Aussie punks FRENZAL RHOMB and punk-rock?'s karaoke kings ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMME?'S (AUSTRALIAN shows only)

In addition to this already monumental package, we are pleased to announce the inclusion of the classic-metal loving 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, deathcore sensations SUICIDE SILENCE, Pennsylvanian quintet AUGUST BURNS RED and rapidly-rising US troupe WE CAME AS ROMANS also on board.

Adding to the aforementioned list of local talent to the Australian shows, is progressive post- hardcore sextet HOUSE VS HURRICANE, live-wire Perth crew BREAK EVEN, Sydney?'s most promising pop-punks HEROES FOR HIRE and of course, the pit-inciting CONFESSION.

And... adding to this excellent line up local talent, all flying the New Zealand flag with pride are the hardcore heroes ANTAGONIST AD fresh from their European tour and ready to deliver their brutal no-holds-barred hardcore to NZs masses. Wellington based melodic punk rockers THE OUTSIDERS.

Auckland based hardcore hard-outs SHITRIPPER led by an intense and layered duel vocal attack AND, NZ?'s most exciting new act LEECHES, formed from the ashes of Bleeders and Goodnight Nurse and featuring members of Antagonist A.D and Brick Vs Face.

So there you have it! We promised and we have delivered.

NASHVILLE, TN?Finally unhindered by his wife Tipper's 25-year-long household ban on violent and sexually explicit music, former vice president Al Gore, 62, reportedly embraced his newfound independence this week by listening to the albums of the heavy metal band W.A.S.P.

"For the first time in decades, I get to play the kind of music I like without someone nagging me about what a bad influence it is," said Gore, sitting on the floor of his living room as he cued up the song "Animal (Fuck Like A Beast)" on his stereo. "And I get to crank it up as loud as I want."

"These guys are kicking some serious ass," added the two-term U.S. Senator. "Check out this guitar break coming up?it's nasty."

Gore, who was prohibited from hearing music with graphic sex, violence, or drug references since Tipper founded the Parents Music Resource Center in 1985, confirmed yesterday that her crusade was "total bullcrap." In addition, Gore said that listening to the forbidden W.A.S.P. albums over and over again had not turned him into a satanic dope fiend as his wife and her associates had warned.

"It sucked because we always had to listen to garbage like Carly Simon and Lyle Lovett all the time," said Gore, who told reporters that he was "loving" being single again. "That stuff is lame, man. If it doesn't have big balls and bigger riffs, get it out of my stereo!"

According to Gore, being deprived of artists like W.A.S.P., M?tley Cr?e, and Ice Cube for so many years only made him more curious. The former presidential candidate claimed that finally hearing them all for the first time was "like having [his] brains shot into outer space."

"I can't believe I wasted half my life helping Tipper put warning labels on this stuff when I could have been seeing these guys do their thing live," Gore said of W.A.S.P. "They used to whip raw meat at the audience. How bad-ass is that?"

"Cause I'm burning, burning, burning up with fi-ire! " added Gore, screaming the lyrics to "Wild Child."

What movies have you seen lately?

Could be new releases, old classics, or just half ass not worth watching crap.

I saw Death Race the other day. Was pretty awesome, but I'm a huge Jason Statham fan and the semi trailer getting owned was one of the biggest highlights for me. :)

Hey folks,

I'm looking at selling my Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100 and 1960 cab.

I myself have never gigged with the set up. I bought the head second hand off a bloke in Forrestdale about 12 months ago who said he had only gigged with it three times and rehearsed with it about 10 times. It's in perfect condition aside from the minor nicks on the back that are barely noticed, all it needs is a little dust over and it will be looking brand spanking new.

The cab I bought BRAND NEW about 14 months ago and has only ventured out of my house 2 times. This is in immaculate condition and just needs some TLC.

I'm asking $1100 for the head and $650 for the cab. Or $1650 for both.

Photos will come tomorrow.

PM me here or you can email me on michaelbailey89@gmail.com

Cheers,
Bailey.

Australian Tours / AC/DC to tour Australia in February
« on: May 10, 2009, 11:12:25 AM »
Quote
THEIR knees might be creaking and the school uniform has seen better days, but AC/DC will be ready to rock when they bring their Black Ice World Tour to Australia in February.

The hard-working, hard-rocking band will unleash their high voltage rock 'n' roll during five shows in Australia, including a date at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre at Nathan in Brisbane on February 25.

Their first Australian tour since 2001 is their largest yet, with 48 semi-trailers required to shift sets around the country.

Last year they released Black Ice, their first CD in eight years ? the second-biggest-selling CD in the world, which topped the charts in 29 countries. Their back catalogue was the biggest-selling of 2008, even outstripping the Beatles.

Their European shows sold out in 10 minutes, and promoter Garry Van Egmond is prepared for a similar reaction here when tickets go on sale on Monday, May 25.

"They play all their big hits. They naturally play a few hits from Black Ice. It's two hours of great rock 'n' roll," he said.

Tickets will be available for $99, or $149.90 for the best seats.

Van Egmond said the band gave specific instructions to keep prices reasonable.

"They want everybody to be able to afford it," he said. "They won't allow pre-sale selling ? it will be 9am on a Monday and the same for everyone, there is no preferential treatment."

Unfortunately, Townsville fans, who campaigned to get AC/DC to visit their city, will miss out with promoters saying the were unable to host the outdoor show in north Queensland as it would be held in February, during the wet season.

"We're very sorry but it's during the wrong time of the year, and (Townsville fans) may have to come to Brisbane," Van Egmond said.

And while they may be wild rockers on stage, behind the scenes the band, aged between 54 and 61, couldn't be more professional.

"These are the most dedicated, straight people I've ever dealt with as a band, who are really involved with what happens with them," Van Egmond said.

By the time their tour winds up in 18 months, they will have played to an estimated three million people around the world.

Tickets will be available at ticketek or 13 28 49.

WA Gigs / ALICE COOPER @ Challenge Stadium September 1st 2009
« on: April 23, 2009, 08:19:37 PM »
With the release of "Along Came A Spider," his 2008 album, Alice shows no sign of slowing down. Recent highlights have included a stop at the legendary Montreux Festival, three shows in North America as special guests to The Rolling Stones, and concerts throughout North & South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. The road is still Alice's second home as he continues to tour extensively throughout the world, with a full schedule planned for his 2009 itinerary, from May into December. He has brought show business and rock 'n roll together in ways never seen before (and rarely seen since). It is not surprising that, after all the shock waves he has caused, the legend of Alice Cooper continues strong into the new millennium.

"Theatre Of Death" is a brand new show devised by Alice Cooper to shock and thrill his legions of Australian fans in August 2009 - who knows what mysteries will be unveiled!!!

WA Gigs / THE WHO playing Perth April 2009
« on: November 20, 2008, 03:26:29 PM »
Quote
Legendary rockers The Who will play their first concert in Perth next April, 45 years after they formed in West London.

Hailed as one of the greatest live acts of all time, the band will perform at Members Equity Stadium on April 4.

The famous line from 1965 classic My Generation, ?I hope I die before I get old?, has an ironic tone these days with surviving founders, singer Roger Daltrey and guitar god Pete Townshend nearing retirement age.

Original drummer and wild man Keith Moon died of a drug overdose in 1978 and bassist John Entwistle had a fatal heart attack linked to cocaine use in 2002.

Yet The Who have ploughed on, releasing their 11th studio album and first since the early 80s, Endless Wire, in 2006 and wowing audiences around the world with their high voltage live show.

The expanded six-piece touring band includes Ringo Starr?s eldest son Zak Starkey on drums and Townshend?s younger brother Simon on guitar.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers released a string of rock rippers during their 60s heyday, including Substitute, The Kids are Alright, Pictures of Lily, I Can See for Miles, Magic Bus and Pinball Wizard from their 1969 rock opera Tommy.

The Who scored one of their biggest hits with Who Are You from the 1978 album of the same name, which was released three weeks before Moon?s death.

The veterans will play the closing concert at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne next year, as well as shows in Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney before winding up with the long-overdue visit to Perth.

Tickets go on sale on December 3.
