General discussion / Re: ANONYMOUS - Operation Black March
« on: February 14, 2012, 03:00:48 AM »
fuck Anonymous. right up their arse. I'll buy what I want, when I want (or at least, when my wallet allows). Is this the decade of the pointless protest or something? Occupy, Anonymous... all a bunch of weirdos.

Its hard to sympathise with Occupy from this side of the world but when you are stuck with a system that privatises banks and then socialises the debts through taxes and helping to create massive gaps along the way between the rich and the poor I can't help but feel you've missed how fucked the whole system has become in America. Things will get worse before they get better but until they can stop the rich buying legislation the bottom 80% of Americas population is in for a rough ride in the coming decade.

As for the occupy protesters in Aus I don't really know what most of them are complaining about, while the Australian govt has some issues we don't have any problems compared to what the US is going through.

WA Gigs / Re: Opeth Australian Tour (Perth date as well)
« on: December 20, 2011, 02:13:38 PM »
I'm still not sure what to expect from this gig at the moment. Took 6 Opeth gigs to finally see Serenity Painted Death last tour and these rumours of no growls new stuff only set list is scaring the shit out of me. As much as I try i just don't really get the new album.

What have you listened to?  The debut is clearly black metal, as are most of their splits and EP material...

To be honest I only listened to the youtube clip posted when I had 5 minutes spare. When i got some time on the weekend i'll track down some other material and have a listen.

I'm all for diversity and something different but why on earth is this labelled as black metal?

As a total outsider to all the people who know each other around here i would also like to mention how much this has alienated people like myself from the scene due to not being "friends" as such and not wanting to add people i really don't know to my facebook page just to keep up with whats happening locally. I don't have a lot of time to go to every local gig that happens due to work and family life taking up a huge chunk of my time, but as well as living almost an hour out of the city it makes getting to gigs harder other than the overseas act i get tickets well in advance for.

This was always the place i came to find information on new local acts and check out any myspace/band sites and get a listen to any demos/eps or whatever as i truely believe Perth has some great bands around but its just getting harder and harder to find them without being out every weekend to see them.

It would be great to have a forum again for local metal that actually have productive members from inside and outside of the "inner circle" as such and hopefully someone can find a way around this problem without having to sift through facebook garbage or perthbands monkeys to find it.

Meat grown in a vat seems to be the way of the future. Non sentient, lab grown meat. No need to worry about killing it humanly, as it's not alive to start with. Less environmental impact too.

Sounds dreadful, meat that doesnt work has no flavour. Perhaps we should all group buy up some land to ensure our proper bovine buddies have somewhere to graze and the metal bbq will never have to see or taste this abomination you speak of!

« on: May 24, 2011, 04:27:42 PM »
Anyone else go?? Went with my Dad last night having not heard any of his work and holy moly was I blown away. Knowing not alot about blues music in general i dont have alot to compare him with but i was truely impressed at how into the show i got from the first to last minute. I usually find sitting down at these music shows a bit limiting but i was fixated on this guy and his great band the whole time. In the end awesome show and if you are into blues or even if you arent go check this dude out., what a legend.

Im sure most have heard the story/ seen the censored video without the real action on the new. This is a big fuck you raise ya fist moment to every cunt out there whos bullied someone at some point and a massive fuck yeah to anyone whos been bullied and wanted payback. I'm sure this kid loves Smackdown with moves like that, and i for one would love to shake the portly fellows hand.

Plain and simple, if your computer is working fine and all the features work as required, just leave your bios and drivers alone. And if you HAVE to have the latest drivers for whatever reason, spend them time and go grab em one by one from the manufacturer so when somehtinggoes wrong you know exactly what you changed.

as a looooooong time dream theater fan i still am not quite sure what to make of this. i feel i should be upset but for some reason it almost seems like this is the way it should go? I have never got alot of emotion from their music but the last few albums really havent grabed me like anything from 2000 back other than train of thought as almost a bit of a prog metal experiment. It will be interesting to see what happens for all parties involved going ahead.

Check out the article below for Nergals official response to the religious few who have taken his illness to preach their ideology and blame his health problems on his lack of belief. This cements Nergal as an official legend in my book (not that he wasnt already!)
