Australian Tours / Re: DEVIN TOWNSEND - Australian Tour, March 2010
« on: December 13, 2009, 09:11:59 PM »
Thats definately FAPworthy..  :fap:

Will he bring Anneke Von Jizzbergen (The Gathering) or whatever her name is??

He said on the forum he is trying to, depends on her schedule.

My housemate is going to all shows except Perth (we live in Melbourne) and got flights for under $300 all together.
Getting to and from Badelaide is about $60 itself!
Going to Perth too would have nearly doubled the price of tickets and this way he only needs accommodation for one night in Sydney!
Should be some fucking great shows!  :headbang:

I am pretty sure that the hoodie packs come with a hand-drawn-with-crayons pic by Devin himself. Awesome!

The Frontline / Re: The Star Wars thread

I never saw Star Wars as a youngin' so I waited til I was about 20-ish and watched in order of storyline.
Watching Phantom Menace first did me a number of favours, I wasn't disappointed.

I actually think Hayden Christiansen was great as Anakin, sulky, petulant teen that he was.
I mean clearly if Anakin wasn't a sook, Palpatine would have had nothing to work with.

I do agree that it was fucking shit to mess with the originals, ROTJ in particular.
The whole point is that Anakin finds redemption at that age, so why show him when he was younger?
Fools.

If anybody saw Ross Noble's tour earlier this year, how great was the "Robert Fett" bit?

I think with Criminal Minds you need to see the right episode to get you started. There is a great episode guest starring Jamie Kennedy - playing a cannibal serial killer with hilarious results.

The Wire In The Blood is good, but the novels are so great I couldn't really get into it.

Arrested Development is one of the best shows ever made. I just got a Gobias Industries shirt.

I am actually really enjoying Big Bang Theory at the moment too.

I think the original Life On Mars was better, the only good US remake I've seen is The Office. Which is fucking hilarious.

Dwight Schrute FTW!

OZ! Such a great show!  :o

My main TV loves are sitcoms and crime/thriller dramas.
I would recommend Bones, Law and Order SVU, Starsky and Hutch, Carpoolers, Double The Fist, Numbers, Family Ties, Monkey, Degrassi Junior High/High, Shaun The Sheep, City Homicide and Criminal Minds.

Just to clear up any confusion, the shows are not called "sold out" until the venue and promoters say so.
There was an allocation of restricted view available, they were not put on sale immediately to avoid confusion - people would have bought them and not realised it was restricted view until it was too late.

Sometimes, if a promoter approves an exchange, 2 or 3 tickets might become available, although that is quite rare.

got my Cd too, i fuckn asked them if they were gonna do any personal shit (the enclosed note) and they said no.
now i got a personal note that's not so personal coz the ebay account was under a different name.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!  :'(
ah well, there's always the next time eh? Hey do you think Dev actually did the note??

Every time you order something from Hevy Devy they pop in a little hand written thankyou note.
I don't think Dev writes them.

You MUST read these books for tales of hilarity about Ed Leslie/Brutus Beefcake, among others:

I laughed so hard I choked while reading these.

I think this was posted around 6am Melbourne time, we ordered ours at about 3pm and we are getting a signed copy.
He is signing the first 1000, because the 300 went so fast.  :headbang:

Signature shenanigans aside, this should be excellent!

There is also a really easy test if you are unsure of your eligibility.
I took it and promptly found out I am getting nothing.
Yay.

Apparently when you only earn $10,000 in a year, you do not qualify for financial help.

General discussion / Re: Circle pits

The thing that makes me angriest at a show is when you cling to the front bar all night, forgoing drinks, toilets and socialising to be sure you will be up close and personal with your favourite people ... and then some half-witted blow-in decides to spend the entire show punching, pushing and elbowing you, putting you in a chokehold, pulling your hair, spitting at you ... anything to move you away from that bar.

AND they don't really know/like the band.  >:(

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circle_pit

"Circle pits can be traced to the Bay Area thrash metal scene in the early 1980s, as reported by numerous thrash metal artists. "

DO YOU LIKE TRASH METORRRRRRRRRRL? :P

Thanks for posting that, I was going to say I've noticed it's mainly American bands that try to force those shenanigans.
