General discussion / Re: Recording!
« on: August 18, 2011, 01:41:41 AM »
We Neverborners are currently writing our fourth CD at the moment.  The last two were done by Hollywood himself, but as he has evaporated we will be looking around for a place to record.  The writing is still going to take a few more months, but I shall chat more with you as the time grows closer.

Yeah, that's in the cards for sure.  We will be using the time until the Bastardfest show to get tight and get the new album written, after that we are at your disposal.

Western Australia / Neverborn New Drummer.

Neverborn would like to announce that we are stoked to have found the drummer we were searching for.

To play the music we have created requires a shit hot and experienced drummer, and after an exhaustive search we have finally found one with the experience, drive and skill to step up and blow us away.  The man we were searching for was found to be right here in our back yard.

For those of you too young or too dead from the hair down to have heard them, the mighty iNFeCTeD were one of the biggest extreme metal acts Perth has spawned, a band known for their "outside the box' attitude to metal and their ability to write horrifyingly unique and beautifully violent Metal.
The drummer and songwriter from this genre-blending and epic band was Gareth, and Neverborn have been lucky enough to absorb him into our Hellish collective.  Gareth brings to Neverborn his wealth of metal experience, his love of extreme metal and of course his flying feet, and we are pleased all jus' to pieces about it.

A more worthy welcome is planned, something likely involving vicious hangovers the next day, but for the moment we simply want to publically welcome Gareth into Neverborn, and my God have mercy on his soul.

Western Australia / Zombies.
« on: July 14, 2011, 09:32:58 PM »
On October 23 Neverborn are shooting our first real vid.  The storyline is basically a zombie horror type of thing with a kid trying to escape the living dead in his home, lots of blood and dead people and all that shit.
We have the producer, the location and all that shit, what we need now are zombies.  Ideally we want up to 40 people in rags and makeup and to shoot what we need we would probably need to book them for the arvo and the early evening.  You WILL get made up to look ghastly, bloody and likely end up quite dirty, but that's metal.  The place we will be shooting is in an old place near Morley.  Details are still sketchy, the producer is onto that.

Before anyone asks, we have spent what we can spare on the vid and can't afford to be paying for your time, but we will put on a feed and a few blocks.

We probably have a dozen confirmed already, and I reckon I could dig up some more with a few calls.  But we need more, people who will show up and not fuck us around.  If you are willing, able and a bit crazy please call myself or one of the Neverborners, or drop me a message here or on our Neverborn Facebook page.

Ta.

Are you kidding?   I might not "get the internet.  Maybe I DO take it too personally.  Maybe I have to accept that fucking abuse from two-faced keyboard heroes are the way things are these days, but I can't.  That's who I am and I aint offering the smallest apology for that, I don't need fucking approval and could give a flying fuck at a rolling donut about disapproval.

In the 8 months since I logged out out of WF there has been no fuckstains harassing me on FB, and yet only a few days after I log back onto WF I am already being followed back to FB by some anonymous pussbag abusing me and filling all my topics with slander.  I told you, the trolls have dug in deep here and they hide under their false names, they just can't wait to start up again.  WF is just poison now.

In this case I just blocked this twit out, he aint worth my time.  It just disappoints me that he is one of you.

Compared to Daz you havent achieved anything. Here is a guy that has literally put life on hold to put this metal scene on the map. Dave and Clay also, although once Daz was left with the reigns he rode that beast till people listened.
Totally.  Daz is the Man.

It is sad that the inmates have been running the asylum to the point where people feel its better to leave, but wf does have a slightly older demographic who are less inclined to want to put up with that shit now that they have partners, families, etc.
Exactly.  So sick of fighting fuckheads.

As to whether every forum has idiots? I completely disagree - It has quite simply whatever the admins allow there to be, and I frequent a number of forums where idiocy and trolling are not seen at all, at least for anymore than a few minutes. If anyone thinks a forum cannot exist with out that kind of 'fun' (?!) then they need to look around. The serious forums get the serious members and subsequent serious discussion. Its intelligent passionate, fair and enjoyable.
Yep.

Bullshit, I can tell you why myself and others abandoned WF.  Its the fighting and the abuse of our bands, and the fact that there is a place to go where that is not happening.

Bands like Chaos Divine copped tons of abuse from elitist trolls on WF over the years, and nobody did shit to stop it.  Free speech may be a human right, but WF was a sanctuary where bands should not have to listen to poisonous little whores calling them fags because they are not black enough, or not brutal enough.  There will always be trolls and troublemakers, but once we used to clan together and drive them off.  It was stupid, but it made WF our home, and a place to go to be entertained.  Then we grew up and stopped wanting to fight everyone, the trolls burrowed in deep and those of us who at least tried to contribute to WF had the choice to either fight to take back WF or give it up to the trolls.    Once the old guard stopped keeping the fire burning there was really nothing to do on WF at all anymore that couldn't be had elsewhere.  After a decade of abusing idiots I realised that the abuse I got in retaliation from these cockheads was being redirected onto Neverborn and the boys were sick of it.  And after a decade I was tired of keeping hate at the boil.

Some of us tried to stop the rot.  I wrote a warning manifesto, and an essay talking up WF and the local scene.  They were bagged out as too long to read.  I started writing reviews so people would have something to discuss here, but that also turned to shit.  Eventually I removed them for my own uses.  I asked the mods to take WF in hand, they responded by NOT banning the troublemakers, but censoring the material.  Nothing worked, and so I joined the line of rats abandoning the ship.

Sure, facebook hasn't helped the situation.  It is the place where we go now, but I personally hate the thing and so do most people I know.  Facebook is full of ads and stupid groups, it is a hotbed of dissension and people cheating on each other.  It is full of pointless updates about making breakfast and retarded pokes and likes.  Your unblockable family members inject their rabid brainfroth into conversations between you and your lunkheads mates, its just too demented for words.  Its imbecilic.  But it IS an option.

And Facebook has positives too, the best one being that you can choose who you talk to, who you associate with and whose stupidity you read.  Idiots who live for just bagging everything, useless elitist fuckwits and shitbirds who derive immense pleasure from trolling can be blocked, disregarded, they might as well not exist.  And you can do all this without any mod powers whatsoever.  Its a little slice of mundane bliss.
On WF we can't do that.  Then there are the other services offered, WF hasn't got the facility to post metal vids from Youtube, post your mp3s up and all that other stuff, it has not had an upgrade for years because Daz poured years of his time into it and all he got back for his efforts is shitty little arseholes logging in and causing shit until the regulars finally decided enough is enough.

Well enough WAS enough, we found a new home and the world kept on turning.  WF bled out, you idiots let it happen and I still feel angry about it.  Well fucking done.

No, not really.  But there is a principle here, y'know?

Anyway, I have since been reliably informed that Dyson definately did NOT want to do the show, so the point is moot.

44
I might be a bit off the mark here, but bear with me....

I was under the impression that it was Dyson's promotional network and label knowhow that placed Pathogen in so many big international support slots and made them rise to greater heights than they had managed in the decade before him.  I was also under the impression that he did all this for the band during the years he was a member, and it seems to me to be a little unfair that he - of all the guitarists Pathogen have gone through over the years - was not shown thanks for such a big contribution by being included in the final Pathogen show.

If he chose not to play the show, that is a different kettle of fish than if he was never offered, the facts are not at my disposal here.  But I have to assume from Aidan's statement that the Musos who played that final gig were hand chosen by him that Dyson was not offered the slot.  Those who make shit happen behind the scenes are worth ten times that of those who stand on the stage, and when they are also contributing musicians they should be given every bit of respect possible.  If I were Dyson I would feel disrespected as Hell, dark as fuck, and I would regret anything I had done for the band.

But that's just me.  That said, I hope that when Claim the Throne eventually call it quits and they have a final gig that they show him more respect than Pathogen have, certainly WE would have.

Very nice.

There is a special section of Hell designated for people like you, Daz.

Revolutions 3.11
11 And it came to passeth that the evil Red beast
did come forth from the darkness12 and cause great harm and injury
to the innocent.  13 Thus did all the armys of the righteous rise up in holy
and sanctified wrath 14 and the word of heaven went out amoungst
all the peoples of the Earth: 15 " Lo and he shalt be kicked in his Bollocks."

There was black metal in the last one, Mhorgl, Naetu and The Uncreation.  And there was Khariot too, I personally think of them as pretty black.  Four out of twenty is a high ratio considering all the other genres in this city, but you black metal fags are never happy unless we all are as depressed as you are.

Back to reality here:  Most bands have good songs and average songs, slow songs and fast songs, and everything in between.
Why not get the most high intensity song from each band, not necessarily the heaviest song but the punchiest.  Sound quality has to be a priority too, the general standard of quality needs to be increased to give the compilation credibility.  You need to be marketting at the average metal heads out there, the thousands of dudes living in the suburbs who love more mainstream Metal, not the handful that love only the extreme stuff.

I think it is a great idea, and a display of balls that you are willing to step up and do this shit again despite the criticism you received.

You can count us in on anything you choose to do.

It may also be worth speaking to Dyson and Brad about injecting some of the labelled bands too.
