I'd rather listen to Tool than some obscure black metal band who sound like they recorded their album in an outhouse on a mobile phone.

Unless Metallica did it....

Metallica are sellouts who sound a lot more like yasseah rock nowadays than heavy metal.

Also, Slayer are way past their prime.

I actually considered starting up a thread like this ages ago, though a bit more formal, where people could (if they so chose) list their trade / profession / abilities, and have an index page at the front.
Then if someone was looking for said talent they could get a fellow metal head to do it. I know I'd rather be giving my money to a metal head, not to mention if I did some work for a fellow metal head I'd be more inclined to give a good deal or 'mates' rates.

So then if you were looking for a mechanic or something and you found someone here you'd (hopefully) know they wouldn't rip you off, and perhaps you could do something for them in return, like design their business logo etc.
Like a big metal barter system, with the thread being like the metal head yellow pages. Not to mention fuck off GST.  :cunning:

"Uh, yeah ... I'm a gig promoter, used to work for a little company here called 'Atrocity Productions', but that kinda fell through and I decided to take my business over east ... But now I'm back and ready to take offers!"

HIRE ME

:D

Yeah, it's me.  But most of you who were in on it knew that already.

Actually, TAPOUT is mine and a fellow gig-goer's satire tough-guy hardcore band that may or may not ever come to fruition.

Yeah, Lars is a fuck head and all that, and we all know what Metallica's music has been like for the last.... er.... 23 years, but those early albums, fucking hell. The drumming was unreal.

Quite literally, as a lot of it was apparently edited (... And Justice For All era)

Not really getting into this album at the moment, honestly - some of the vocal harmonies/melodies are a bit lame, not to mention some songs ("Let This River Flow", for instance) are just plain cringeworthy.

Mayhem! good stuff, that still wont stop us from putting on a mad show. Plenty of nights were gigs collide.

Whats wrong with the Civic? Great Venue and Wicked supporter of the Perth Original Metal scene, say what you will but they have some great shows there.

Looking forward to Bastardfest? organised by the same people who are doing 'Mayhems' Tour and funnily enough its at the Civic

I think you're missing the point.

I would say offhand that the grand majority of Perth's metal scene will be at the Mayhem gig, which is of course on the same night.

Therefore resulting in a more than likely disappointing turnout for this gig.

The venue is irrelevant - the Civic is a great venue, without question.  But you either have to be extremely bold or extremely naive organizing a gig for the same night one of extreme metal's biggest bands are playing in town (not to mention a band that don't come here every 3 or 4 years like most others).

Deon. I think WF is turning You into Jez.  8)

We need a replacement Jez don't we? Perhaps just a fill-in?

TAPOUT does a good enough job, don't you think?

It's almost like Jez never left ...  ;D

do you need a Jerry Springer intervention?
