POWER PROGNOSIS

2 Classic/Power metal bands and 3 Progressive metal bands join forces for a big night in the very first Power Prognosis!

Doors open 730 be sure to come down early to catch Morphica, a relativly new band filled with very experienced (and well known) Perth players. Tonight, they will be treating the crowd to some songs written by the worlds biggest prog bands.

Bend the Sky and Caprycon have certainly made a name for themselves in the Perth Prog scene and tonight they unite the prog fans of perth to show why they are the up and comers and will demand your attention on the live stage!

Prisoners of Faith are Perths classic metal torch bearers featuring a 3 guitar attack, with songs of battles, gods and crusades. They are influenced by the god fathers of the genre and it shines through in the bands brilliant work.

Silent Knight are Perth's power metal force influenced by the European power bands of the 80s. Bands such as Iron Maiden, Helloween and Hammerfall thier sound is full of shredding guitar solos & harmonies, double kick drums and a classic Bruce Dickinson-esque vocalist!

The Progressive Rock & Progressive Metal genre is a small minority in Australia. Prog Sessions Pt 1, is the first of a string of events dedicated to showcasing Perth Progressive bands (Yes we do exist) to those who appreciate the musicianship and style of music, whether it be instrumental, quirky, melotronical, filmtrack sounding or just plain wierd.

The Frontline / Re: Covers
« on: August 17, 2010, 11:28:56 PM »
I reckon the odd cover here and there is awesome, and sabotage gigs were great fun, would like to see them again some time, or maybe just few sabbath covers next psychonaut gig. Wrathchild were a little disapointing though.

Slightly off topic but has anyone heard adagios cover of immigrant song? fucken epic wank = fucken awesome  :headbang:

I haven't been of Western Front for a while but in regards to this gig....I agree Wrathchild didn't play the best however it was a first gig and something that was thrown together in such a short time. The project wasn't intended to be an ongoing thing however everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Maybe a few songs got butchered and I'm definately no Bruce Dickinson but we certainly had fun.

creating a new project away from enkounter, something a little more progressive and need some session muso's (drums, bass and key's) to help record my first song idea. Looking for help on the production side of things too. I'm still working on another 6 songs but my first song idea is already up on my myspace page.

have a listen and if you're interested flick me an email or a myspace message.

Musician Connection / Bass Player & keyboard Player wanted
« on: July 05, 2009, 07:27:57 PM »
We're not super heavy but are a mix of melodic metal/alternative rock

we need a bass player to replace Ben who has recently left. We're currently recording our first album at Soundbaker Studio and have all the bass lines covered for the time being but need someone who wants to gig regularly and is learning the existing bass lines as well as creative enough to write their own for new songs.

also looking to add keys to develop our sound further.

check out our really shitty recordings on www.myspace.com/enkounter
