Sent the following email to JSR last night:

Quote
Dear JSR.

The internet rumor-mill is turing with claims of Destruction being
asked off the Screamfest lineup.
The bands Myspace's tour dates reflect this to be true.
http://collect.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bandprofile.listAllShows&friendid=145563834&n=DESTRUCTION+(official)

The band have also released a forum post showing the following
communication between them and JSR:

"STATEMENT of the Australian JUST SAY ROCK promoter Nik:

The board of Just Say Rock cannot afford to bring Destruction down to
Australia for the festival and other shows. I literally fought tooth
and nail and tried everything in order to persuade them not to make
this decision. However, I am not the owner and I do not fund the
company, which was pointed out to me.

I am personally gutted, bitter and disappointed with the outcome but
am powerless to change or alter the final outcome - no matter how hard
I argued with them. Not helping my cause was that the venues in both
Brisbane and Perth had spoken to Just Say Rock prior to this and
wanted to either cancel the shows or bump Destruction into bars/pubs
as the sales for these shows are poor with what they stated as "people
showing little interest" in attending.

I can only imagine how disappointed you will all feel, if it is half
of what I feel, it is terrible, especially after all the effort and
work that went into this. For any correspondence on this matter
contact one of the Board Members, owners and financiers of Just Say
Rock direct; Tony Oxley. His email is tony@ic12.com.au He has been
copied into this email. "

My question is:

Is this true?.. and if so when did you plan on telling current ticket holders?

I have made plans costing thousands of dollars to get from Perth to
Sydney to catch this band and the others on the Screamfest bill.
I was a little ticked off weeks after booking to find that the side
shows were announced in my area but shrugged it off as a "live n
learn" lesson.
Now im hearing that one of the headliners wont be on stage? What the???

If I didnt see this announcement how would I have known? Do you expect
people to just forget about the massive German thrash band that was
ment to be on the stage?

I mean hats off for bringing in some great bands I caught Amon Amarth
in my town last week thanks to you guys and it was great but JSR you
guys need to get your act together and tell people about these kind of
things...the post is dated the 23/11/09!!! Thats a week!

JSR is still offering tickets to Destruction shows though:
http://www.justsayrock.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=333&category_id=23&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=30

And Destruction is still on the bill they are even included on the
running sheet... right there from 12:25am til 1:25am
http://www.screamfest.com.au/

I hope I am over-reacting and the claims are false..and that JSR didnt
leave there website online with misleading information and continued
to offer tickets to a festival and respective sideshows for a band
that are saying they wont be there...that would be unprofessional  and
pretty rude.

I and the rest of the Screamfest / Metal Month ticket holders look
forward to your reply.

Cheers

Initially I got an auto reply sayin to send to a Harry and a Nik then after doing so another Out of Office reply from Nik stating she was on tour with Amon Amarth and wont be answering emails til Monday.. its 10pm Monday night and no reply.. Website is still displaying Destruction on the bill.

These guys are cunts.

« on: August 14, 2009, 06:07:53 PM »
Hey Guys

I have missed Amon Amarth previously and am really keen to see them live in Perth..
I shot off an email to the email listed on their website and got this back recently:

"Hi Justin,
we are planning a tour in Australia, but yet we don?t know when.
But I hope it will happen before summer 2010.

Cheers
Carlos

Betreff: Australian Tour ?

To Whom It May Concern

I am a massive fan of the band and am wondering if you guys are making
any plans to tour Australia (Perth WA specifically)  in the near
future ?
Any information would be much appreciated

Cheers
Justin"

Not really sure if he ment their summer or ours and its nothing concrete but it could be something worth getting excited about! So much international metal flowing through the country at the moment i wouldnt be surprised.

AMON AMARTH

$62 + bf

Playing a unique brand of Viking Metal, the band has amassed a loyal fan base and continues to earn praise from the metal community. In 2008 the band released their most recent effort Twilight Of The Thunder God to critical acclaim and the strongest sales of their illustrious career.

Returning to our shores for only the second time, the Viking Metal legends will be back in November 2009 to prove once again why they are at the forefront of a genre. Don't miss the chance to witness a tour that will be talked about for years to come!
