Walking Dead, Dead Island, Dead Rising (1 & 2), Dead Nation, Shaun of the Dead, Deadly Premonition, Left 4 Dead (1 & 2), Dawn of the Dead, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, Night of the Living Dead & Trapped Dead...

and now... DEADBORN (seems like a totally original, completely profitable, marketable idea! )

or does Neverdead seem a bit more relative and funky?

was under the impression that this gig would have started at 1pm like most if not all LHQ gigs do and finish at around 5 oclock

TODAY!! See you there!!

Your up early!

I hope the sound will be good, it was actually one of the hot topics at the Rocket room gig 3 days ago (21st?) what happens to the sound at the Civic sometimes, especially in the front room?

It came down to thinking that he must'nt take his job seriously...

Come to think of it their is really only barely a handful of good ones!  We need to start employing people like Geoff Eaton to get the sound right.  I remember we even had one sound guy come up to us at the end of a set and say 'whoa, thats some crazy ass shit you play up there I didnt even know where to begin mixing it'

really guy?

Yeah thanks I was actually thinking about it last night its pretty much the only way right now hell random people in other countries far away are going to be able to listen to it, they dont know what the webstore adress is let alone our facebook page or myspace.

Anyway thanks for everyone who came down and was really supportive, ill try and post up some footage of us playing.  The sound was great and the bands were really tight, I messaged Dan last night but im going to make it public the new Nexus song blew mine and Shah's socks off.  But I want to say as well that Luke from Sins of the Father SPOT ON accuracy behind the kit... Such a shame you broke a crash cymbal :( Saw Gav wearing a Sins shirt afterwards and I must say, awesome design.

Also Dylz those cowboy shoes were amazing you should wear them for every Nexus set, really rockin' vibe on stage.  Tell me when you play some new material next i'll be really keen to come and check it out! I was talking with Steve the door guy just before midset and we were talking about Dans phrasing on the kit some real complex stuff going on there, also anyone know what brand of drums Luke uses?  We thought it might of been Gretsch or DW but I never got around to asking him

those fucks, how utterly dissapointing

What can I say other than what a great night, turned up not knowing what to expect and then REZUME hit the stage and completely blew everyone away.  Now thats a band I definately wanna see and hear more of those guys have some skill...

Was fortunate enough to take some footage on my camera while I was down there although I would only know the song names as 'BREE BREE' at this stage, speaking of which for a 16 year old Memet from REZUME had some incredibly polished Gutturals, I know a couple of guys in Perth that could take a leaf or 2 out of his book.

You may want to ammend this post ruleszy

So effin sorry about that I only found out that it was on Sunday on my way to the Rezume/Scrape gig and was pretty devastated that I couldnt change it.

Just to clarify for anyone Scorcherfest is on Sunday.

9
Yep i've watched all the BOTB youtube videos and caught a couple of listens from outside their rehearsal room, pretty tight stuff.  Ill be heading down early with a video camera to watch them play.  Shout outs to Dave Lockear who plays Keyboard in the band!

This is the perfect opportunity for anyone caught wondering how their gonna stumble their way home drunk at 1 am in the morning, ITS AN AFTERNOON SHOW!
(Scorcherfest does continue on until 9:30 ish but the last metal act KHARIOT will finish their set at about 7:20 ish)

10
Theres gonna be heaps of great metal acts on tomorrow at SCORCHERFEST from midday to 6:30 including the great Born on the Bayou.  Progressive Metal band Caprycon will get the first chance to kick tomorrow's metal festivities right in the balls, I was lucky enough to stumble across their website and man can I tell you that guy is a beast on the bass guitar!  Most of tomorrows metal acts will be playing on the third stage (the red or sparkling stage) however the penultimate act and the headlining act of the 'heavy rock/metal leg' have been put on the Second stage (the white or clear stage)

I dont know if i'm supposed to be doing this but here are the set times for tomorrows 'metal leg' of the festival and with the line up looking this great I wanted to be the one to share it with you:

ON THE RED (3rd) STAGE

12:00 Caprycon ? Progressive Metal

12:40 Requiem for Resistance ? Metal/Punk

1:20 Born on the Bayou - Metal

2:00 BELTANE FIRE - Metal

2:40 Little Hostile Face - Rock

3:20 Prisoners of Faith - Metal

4:00 TunXsten - Rock

4:20 Applebite The Beggars on Acid - Rock/Grunge

5:20 One Armed Scissor - Rock

TO THE WHITE (2nd) STAGE

6:00 Social Inertia - Metal

6:40 Khariot - Progressive/Extreme/Metal

So if your a metalhead thats into good talented local metal and prefer catching shows/drinking piss in the day time then heres something for you; the perfect opportunity to come down to the Rosemount and do just that!

WA Gigs / Re: Metal for fishes presents 'Mayhem @ the Railway'!!

For those of you who are disappointed that Mayhem aren't actually playing, come down anyway, we'll have something in store for you  :eyebrows:

Im guessing its going to be a Mayhem cover of some sort, although you dont wanna be giving too much away otherwise it would ruin the surprise.

I personally hope its a cover of Chainsaw Gutsfuck :P

Anyhow I took some footage of the mysterious force known as Eschaton from their last gig at Club Unknown, anyone into Steampunk or Victorian costume design will want to go check it out!

Pity you'll only have half the crowd you could have had on a different night.

I'm not 2 fond of double bookings myself  :(

...Enforce CD launch on the same night

22
by the way I would like to know what songs I ended up getting footage for from both bands, it was about 3 songs in for each set.  If someone from Desolate could get back to me with song title's that would be great!

I could hear through last nights sound and thought all of the bands that played were very tight, good job!

23
Okay so for those that did'nt end up making it theres some footage posted up of the night, would of loved to provide footage of Khariot (and Noctis respectively) but if you want something done you gotta do it yourself right?  There was just no time in the end unfortunately I really need a fucken drum tech... to say the least!

A special thanks to the ones that came down and got ontop of the NASTY launch!
