You make a few relevant (if slightly arrogant) points. Is there a bit too much 'scene' backslapping and blind praise? Maybe, but its just support for a type of music that is already a minority in this city. Besides, would you really want WF to turn into something like Metal Archives forums??
Oh and for bands not sounding 'Australian'....Although I kinda get what you're saying, Im yet to find a metal band that has an 'Australian' sound that can be tagged (Ie Gothenburg sound). Ive even heard Alchemist called 'european sounding'. I guess its all subjective.
Maybe Australian metal bands should add washboards, didgeridoos and those shaker things with beer bottle tops (Cant remember what they're called)

Continuing the local theme there will also be tracks from A Bus Crash Decaptitation and NEW stuff from The Devil Rides Out
Internationally theres more from the oddly fantastic FURZE, Devin Townsends 'Ziltoid The Omniscient' and more (Deryk will be on soon to give the full lowdown)

Devin Townsends newest musical masterpiece! ZILTOID THE OMNISCIENT Does it sound any good? Does the pope shit in the woods?! Will Ziltoid destroy earth or will Captain Spectacular save the day...Tune in to find out.
Also we have the twisted sounds of FURZE to play. "UTD: Beneath The Odd-Edge Sounds to the Twighlight Contract of the Black Fascist" Insanely odd black metal. Imagine Thorns jamming out to 'A Blaze In The Northern Sky' without adding electronic elements and you're still nowhere near how excellent this is.
Locally we have a SNEAK PEAK at the NEW NEVERBORN album!
Also we'l play a track or two from the latest Dream Theater cd SYSTEMATIC CHAOS. new Dimmu Borgir, Municipal Waster and a whole swag of other stuff.

I LOVE POSTING REFERENCES TO METAL ALBUMS WHEN I SEE SOMETHING POSTED ON HERE WHICH REMINDS ME OF A CERTAIN PART, TITLE, LINE, ALBUM TITLE, IDEA, IMAGE OR SOMETHING SOMETHING RELATED TO A METAL BAND WHICH I KNOW / LOVE. IT GETS ME THINKING OF THE SONG, THE ALBUM OR WHATEVER AND MAKES ME WANT TO GO GIVE IT A SPIN. PLUS IT GETS D-FATS ROCKS OFF WHICH ALWAYS HAS INTERESTING RESULTS TOO.
DONT LIKE IT? PISS OFF POST-WHORE..... "lol"

A whole bucketload of SLAYER and MASTODON tracks to coincide with the upcoming gig (What, you didnt know?). Also we play some bands that are related to them (ie Today Is The Day, Grip Inc, Fantomas etc)
Also a stack of local Perth METAL including Red Descending, Mhorgl, Dethlahem, iNFeCTeD and more!
Metal is the law!

I havent heard too much of Chimaira, always dismissed them as a bit of a nu-metal band, but DT seems to think they're not so bad, so I guess we can make up our minds tonight!
