Is it blasphemous for me to say, if I had the choice, I'd rather see an Ozzy set than a Sabbath set?

Bands havent done half the shit they've accomplished because they've never been given a go. Children of Bodom are gonna pull a massive crowd anyway so wouldnt promoters wanna give a better band a go, or a band that suits. If Voyager didnt have Soundworks giving them gigs all the time it would be interesting. How are other bands supposed to get out there if the same band supports every metal band that come here.

Mate, there are no hand-outs in this industry. This isn't a charity. You work hard and you get the reward. Do you think Voyager were just given a go when they were starting out? 3 albums and one on the way later and they are starting to get the recognition they deserve.

As for Voyager not doing too much lately; National tour with Alestorm, signing with new label, scored a slot at Prog-Power USA, recording their 4th album. They've been busy. No band works harder.

Can someone talk these bands up so much that I'd consider myself a total deadbeat if I didn't make the commute to the Railway? I've only seen Evo Machine so I know at least one band has the goods. How high is the POOOWAAH :headbang: factor?

Speed is one of the best live vocalists I've seen. I think Rosie was a good choice. Something different. Will be better than Metros Freo. Sound was no good there last time.

Well done to Voyager for scoring the support!

Fucking ace. Y'all should get on the Lord wagon because all Dungeon and Lord material is killer. Not many bands I can say that about. Tim is one serious talent. Lungs and chops you'd sever your member for.

MELODIC SUPREMACY!!!!!!!!!

I shall take Daz's word for it, and say NO to Karnivool then.  It has gotta be Metal or it aint review material.

Thanks though.
Nu-metal has it's place in "The History of Perth Metal" and Persona would be the Nu release worth reviewing.

Line-up Confirmed!

International / Re: Physical format CD's anyone still buy them?

I'm not sure where you got those figures from. I know distributors that give roughly 40% of sales from a retail store to the bands. Not 3 - 10%. Obviously not as good as the 100% from sales at shows or from Itunes, but it's not as bleak as you're putting it.

Another huge set by Voyager. Incredibly, each show exceeds their last. The best medley yet. Hip new threads. Video looker great.

Not just about supporting the artist. I've enjoyed watching my CD collection grow since I was a youngun and will continue to do so. I suspect most metal heads are the same. Itunes is for the flavour of the day, not classic albums.

19
Looking forward to seeing a classic album performed in it's entirety. How's that Rowley? Good start?

Haha not this time. Working on new stuff at the moment so covers are on the shelf for a while.

20 mins into this i'm thinking where the fuck is this going but once it settled I thought it was pretty cool. Freddy had a few good one liners towards the end. Not a big fan of the originals so maybe that's why it was tolerable.
