Australian Tours / Re: METAL MONTH (Screamfest Sideshows)
« on: December 02, 2009, 06:55:47 AM »
Anyone going to Melbourne for Sonata Artica? I'm gonna be in Bali NY's and will miss them at Screamfest so going straight to Melbourne on the 5th. Should I assume no? Pretty safe assumption.

Simon's (Archangel) corkscrew stage dive was the greatest thing anyone has ever done.  The crowd was going nuts which was really good to see. Don't think I've ever seen that much crowd surfing before. Amon Amarth blew me away.

Details will be updated in a few days as we finalise things with the distro... But expect around 15 dollars for a copy, with the entry fee standard 12 bucks  :)

WA Gigs / Re: LORD WA TOUR Oct 23rd, 24th with Voyager, Psychonaut & more

After seeing Lord live I have decided they are the best Aussie band I've seen play. It helped knowing all the material so I might be a tad biased. But fuck they put on two killer shows. A shame there weren't more people down there to see it.

Yeah I bought Sonata Arctica tickets for the Melbourne gig through Moshtix and it is also a Just Say Rock show so that's a pretty safe bet.

arent you in Lacrymae?

Mago you've never left Gero for anything melodic therefore never seen the machine in action.

And fuck yes PoS! That's some serious icing on this plenty tasty cake.

DUNGEON has been my favourite Aussie band since I first heard them in '03. If you like your metal fast, thrashy and melodic, then Lord is for you. I'm pretty sure that live they play a lot of the old Dungeon stuff which is freaking exciting. A Rise to Power is in my top 5 albums of all time. Sharing a bill with Lord Tim is a real thrill. Get down to both shows to support Aussie metal and encourage other Aussie metal bands to come over this way.

Good to see you blokes back on the scene. Looking forward to checking out the new drummer.

Site looks fucking great! Can't wait till the launch.

Sing whatever you wanna sing about, just don't target individuals. That is fucked up.

A change of vocalist hardly means a different band.

The good/smart bands revert back to the classic singer.

That's great news. Crack the Skye is one of my favourite albums of the year. Their best work. They'd play Capitol surely. Doubt they'd fill Metro's.

Fucking bang! Now just waiting on Sonata Arctica's announcement so I don't have to chop my own junk off as punishment for missing Screamfest.

The Friday the 13th remake was a shocker but Rob Zombie's Halloween was awesome. Psychological Slasher? Well made. Looking forward to the sequel coming soon.
