Yeah Dave is a much superior drummer to Lars, seeing him live last time Slayer came through was mindblowing but he's a different drummer than Lars. Dave is not just into metal, he's into all that jazzy shit as well, real complex stuff. Lars is from the old school, Deep Purple / Motorhead simple and laid back style. I thought his performance was pretty fucking good on both nights, he plays to the music which is exactly what Metallica's music needs, not some fucking high flying triple spin fancy in your face baq of tricks style, Metallica have NEVER been that kind of band. I mean his performance on Orion and Disposable was fucking perfect but I guess people who don't hear a replication of the album tracks think it's all errors.  :-\

That show was fucking insane, I was on the rail the whole night right in front of Lars drum kit and in front of one of the mics and we got crushed! Fuck I am hurting though, got bruises everywhere, the crowd was just insane where I was. I managed to catch Lars drink and a guitar pick from Kirk. Metallica were on fire as usual, pity about the sound though but that's not Metallica, that's the fucking shitty Burswood Dome because Metallica sounded a hell of a lot better in Melbourne. But great show, standard set but I would think they will pull out a few surprises tonight. Now I'm off to go meet the band haha! Oh did anyone check out the fucking nutters climbing the support beams? Crazy!

I hope you wernt one of the weak fuckers in front of me then, that just stood there and were to busy taking fucking photos with a piece of shit camera to actually act like you were in a pit!!!!!! fuck people that do that SHIT ME!

The pit was too crazy where I was to grab any pictures. I seriously doubt anyone in the area I was in would of been able to get anything at all. But I know what you mean, granted I take a few pics when I can but some guys on Saturday were sitting there filming the whole thing. Just a waste of time in my opinion.

Instead of complaining about what they didn't play how about looking at what they did play? Blackened, Hit The Lights, All Nightmare Long, Bellz, Fade It was still an amazing setlist, there will always be songs they won't play on the night, they just can't play them all. Which is why they change the setlist on EVERY SINGLE SHOW. Not just on double nights but on every show. They played Battery in Melbourne, God that Failed in Brisbane, Ride The Lightning in Sydney the list goes on. Fuck Maiden, Metallica do it fucking right.

Awesome show again! Didn't get to the very front this time as I had to go meet the band before the show but still got pretty close to the front  ;D Fucking awesome meeting the band, really friendly down to earth guys. Also saw Baroness walk through backstage, Lars went and chatted with them for a bit. But the setlist was amazing. Disposable, Through The Never, Orion, Fight. Only downside was no Creeping Death but hey, no complaints about the show. Can't wait for more next month!

Wanna know how come Metallica haven't released a good album since 1988? This is the best explanation ever: http://www.leavethehall.co.uk/lists/metals-greatest-mysteries-solved/

I jest, of course. As it turns out, I pooh-poohed the gigs at length until a not-very-metal friend begged me to go with her on her spare ticket. Grudgingly I agreed but I'm actually kinda looking forward to it. I was at the last two shows at the Ent Centre (the first time as a proud fan, the second time at the behest of my mother, who was worried my little brother and his idiot mates would talk shit to a bikie and get pummelled).

That was a good show and fucking loud! The old entertainment centre really had a great sound. I have already seen Metallica twice in Melbourne last month and they are on fucking fire, it is absolutely freaky how good they are at the moment considering how old they are. Out of all the gigs I have seen in recent times including the mighty Slayer, Metallica undoubtedly blow them all away and I have seen some pretty fucking good gigs from some top notch bands.

Can we get tickets at the door?

They change the setlist every night

And holy fuck the first 2 shows were awesome! What a fucking fantastic couple of days, seeing Metallica live!! After flying out on Tuesday night right after Soulfly I was pretty knackered by the time I got in so I slept in a bit and didnt get to the show until 1pm thinking there was gonna be a huge line, turned out there was hardly anyone there! What the fuck? and it was like that pretty much even after the doors were opened so I got a sweet spot on the rail between the two mics. Could not believe my luck, so much for Melbourne crowds  The band were unbelievable, heavy and loud as fuck! Loved the laser show, the videos of it does not do it justice, I even saw lasers bouncing off Robs chrome guitar! And to further my luck, I managed to grab 3 pics from Kirk and rob, one from Rob which he pointed to me and thought I droppd it haha awesome! Lars didn't come to our area with drunksticks at the end of the show but he did get pretty close to us before Seek and Destroy started, I swear I could almost feel his danish breath lol
Second show I had a seat right at the back, great view of the whole venue and of the stage. I don't know if it was because of where I was sitting as opposed to being on the floor or if they just tweaked the sound or whatever but the second show sounded even better and the setlist was absolute killer! Anyway, great couple of shows, already I have seen Metallica as much in two days as I prevously had in 10 years lol cannot wait until October!

Fucking awesome, will have to go this gig. There's been a resurgence of old school thrash in the last few years, worldwide so good to see some of that here in Perth.

Fuck me that's a killer lineup. I just hope not too many of them clash though I suspect it's bound to happen. And Avenged Sevenfold will be still with Mike Portnoy? Fucking hope so.

Is this official cause I'm seeing question marks all over that announcement

72
Cool, the later the better.

73
I got something else going on earlier that night but what time roughly would Tangled hit the stage?

74
I'm surprised there wasn't a group mentality of telling them to calm down?

I would hazzard that it wasn't any of the regular metalheads, but more the local Metallica fans. Same things happens at a lot of big international gigs, there will be people who don't know how to behave themselves. Difference being there were chairs for them to trash this time, instead of just each other in the mosh pit.

Probably the same idiots who do that nonsense ninja shit in the moshpit as well. People just don't know how to behave themsevles these days, anywhere.

75
Hell yeah this sounds awesome just a shame ya cant enjoy a few drinks there  :headbang: :headbang:

There was drinks there but was sold out half way through the show.
On a side note, if people are going to be singing and stomping to the music, could they at least 1. Know the fucking lyrics and 2. Actually keep in time with the music? I don't mind the noise but Jesus fucking H Christ some people have atrocious timing.
