Yes. But you are talking about getting ripped off not blowing your computer. That would be more similar to installing a cpu without a fan/heatsink. The getting ripped off on the net thing is more like going to a mechanic (or the wrong mechanic) and getting ripped off because you have no idea what they are charging you for. It's not common sense to run security programs on your comp if you have never had a comp before, that is learned knowledge not common sense. And even if it is down to stupidity, why are you so mad about it? It makes it seem like you are mad because you got hacked and now you need to show everyone how pro you are by getting angry at noobs lol.

I'm getting mad because stupid people complaining makes me mad.

Deanie, you brought up the goddamn car analogy. You are a silly, confused little man.

Nihilist, you're almost back in form. Almost, but not quite.

And goat, the internet can't possibly get any worse. It won't get any better. It's a turd alright.

Your not understanding me. It's common fucking sense.

If you don't know what you are fucking doing, don't go slathering your bank details all over the internet willy nilly. Get someone to help.

To use your car analogy... If i had no idea what I was doing, I wouldn't change the plugs and leads. I'd go to a mechanic. If i did it myself, knowing full well that I had no idea, and ended up crossing leads and fucking my engine, I'd be a moron, wouldn't you agree?

Because the internet's been around for two fucking decades now and people should fucking well be on top of it.

...Or at least realise that the internet is now well and truly intertwined with the real world and assessing online risks should be done as prudently as those in the real world. You don't put trust in strangers in real life. You wouldn't give your wallet to a random person to hold onto while you duck down to the gents for a piss, no matter how hard they're aching to chew on your genitalia. If someone came to you and told a sob story about how that random person made off with their wallet, you would ask them 'why did you give your wallet to a stranger?' and possibly even call them colourful names like 'fuckwit' and 'moron'.

When it happens online, there's no difference.

I take it you got your Warcraft account stolen. Read disclaimers in future, these companies will never ask for your account details, ever. Though it probably did you a world of good, I'd be thankful.

half the internet? Not really.

Think of as dogshit in a park. You are aware of it, but ignore it for the most part. If it does cross your path, you avoid it. And if you tread in it, it's your own god damn fault for being a vacant moron.

All my love.

Jesus christ. If you can manage to not get ripped off in the real world, logic dictates that you should be fine on the internet.

Handy hints; don't use western union for cash transfer, don't buy dodgy stuff like viagra (go to a doctor you flaccid imbeciles), don't submit a form with personal details if you are a paranoid conspiracy theorist / paedophile hiding behind a proxy.

Any woman that doesn't know you but for some reason wants to fuck you is actually a greasy man with something to sell, or a couple of kilobytes of script.

No, you can't enlarge your penis with pills. If your dick is dwarfed by a bee, learn to give head properly so you've got at least something to offer.

Don't download child porn. Weirdos.

Don't trust Nigerians or Russians.

Don't expose yourself on camera in exchange for anything. 99 times out of a 100 it's 4chan, and they'll give you nothing but a year of hell.

Nutmeg won't get you high.

You can't make bombs out of dynamic lifter

And finally, never, ever pay for porn.

These are things that should be common fucking knowledge. Study it, know it well and your trip through the interbutt will be a pleasant one.

Take care of yourself, and each other. Goodnight..

also, if the govt were serious about safety, they'd levy or make compulsory comprehensive defensive driving courses. They'd enforce freeway laws, and they would damn well make sure that driving instructors taught you how to drive, not just how to pass the practical test which seems to be the order of the day.

I'm also going to take this oppurtunity to say that if you hog the right lane, you are a grade-a douchebag.

For what reason is it considered safe to drive on roads in France at 130kph, but unsafe on better roads here at 130kph? Why is 200kph considered safe in Germany?

Safe is not a quantifiable term.

110 on the freeway is not inherently unsafe, just like 50kph in a 50 zone is not inherently safe.

Also, you're a dork.

never need to gun it through amber anyway, as long as you're over the line you don't get flashed... And speed cameras have a 10 percent margin of error that works in favour of the motorist.

If you get pinged by one of these, you're just a shit driver, or a lunatic.

The issue I have with it is with wet weather. Im sure we've all been in situations where (even when driving a little slower than normal) stopping at an amber before it turns red isn't an option and the safer choice is to go through.

Pretty sure you can still do that, but you really don't have to accelerate to get through the otherside of the intersection beforr the red light comes. If you are across the line when it goes red you're golden, this has happened to me plenty of times, wet and dry... If you mistime it and cross the line on red you should've been paying more attention in the first place.

The morely alexander one is pointless, as you can always bypass the set of lights by going around anyway.

End of the day, it is all revenue raising, and it's fucking annoying but it's here now, so we have to adapt or avoid.

Or just get some black spraypaint and go to town on the lenses.

Might burn a bible using the australian flag as tinder, while addressing the audience in nothing but cantonese. The moral outrage might just spark some kind nationwide riot, which is a perfect excuse to loot myself a porsche and flatscreen.

It's so crazy it has to work.

All those faggots are just using their faith as an attempt of justification for their ideologies. KKK, Islamic extremists, Irish terrorists, the pope, fucking Ahmedinijad the whole lot!

There are plenty of loopholes in the holy texts that can be interpreted as religious justification for abhorrent acts.

Those 95% that manage to follow a faith without shitting on human rights should be left alone.

See this is how a derail should go.

Why talk about a band nobody wants to see when you can talk about sweet sweet boobies.

And for the record, all tits, great and small, are to be CHERISHED for the magnificent feat of bioengineering that they are.

They'll run out of proxies (or patience!) eventually. Finding a new working proxy to tunnel through and having to continuously set up a new account after each ban is a lot less fun than provoking responses from hot heads on an internet forum, I'm sure you'll agree... And really, the odds are stacked against them. It takes about a minute to ban someone, and much longer to circumvent the ban.

Anybody remember when WF trolls were primarily right wing neo fascist nazi sympathisers? Good times were had by all punching holes in their ideologies and attitudes. You can't have any fun with this new crop, they exist solely to waste time.

Damo, it's not so easy when a thread of potential quality is continuously interrupted and derailed; you can't close individual posts or block individual users.

It's kind of like trying to have an in depth debate with someone with a pack of special needs kids playing trumpet two feet away from your ear... Everyone just gives up on the discussion while the horns keep on blowing.

Fortunately it IS that easy. Just post around it like it never happened.

I understand peoples frustration, and Ive been on this forum longer than most - but starting a thread about troll activity and writing a short story about how its getting to everyone is just as damaging to the board as the trolls themselves - and it gives trolls the publicity they cant live without, seemingly on and offline.

Sure, an extra mod or two would help Daz, but the only thing thats changed is the scene isnt as close-knit as it used to be, allowing people to post anonymously without us really knowing who some of them are. If this means more people are aware of the wf site, this is a good thing - But you have to be prepared to take some of the bad with it.

I'd rather not have to sift through the plethora of morons to find what I want. It's a fucking pain in the arse.

Plus all this pointless shit is using up bandwidth.

Ban them all.
