I liked the railway last time we went, Silent Knight were playing along with Morphica (and others, but cant remember right now >.<) sound was really good I thought.. the fact you could hear the singer, especially since it was mainly clean vocals was good for a change. Going to a gig I like the atmosphere the most I guess, a good bill is a must of course but I tend to go to gigs where the acts can really work the crowd, seems to always be a better show :)

anyone who is into a bit of prog might like Haken. Fairly newish band, just released there 2nd cd called visions (nocturnal conspiracy is one of my favourite tracks). Also I got hold of Leprous - Bilateral .. all I can say is that I was blown away with the cd!

Not new, but I just discovered Ayreon a few months back and have since acquired a few cd's, really cool concept (visions being sent back in time then the songs explaining what happens, spans planets, galaxies.. everything!) and the amount of talent in the project is amazing. Star One is also another one of lucassens projects that has songs about sci-fi books/movies/tv shows which i thoroughly enjoyed.

Not really the screamy type of metal that gets most the attention here but for those who enjoy power/prog and the like might want to check some out :) If anyone has some more like this please let me know! Would love to discover some more bands

would printing an a3 style one with all the months on one page be a lot cheaper? sort of like year planners or something? just have a smaller picture (1 girl, 2 max?)  and the month underneath.

9
times and entry fee? might have to get there a bit later due to some other stuff

Woo miss out on it last time but I'm definitely going this time round!

BLIND GUARDIAN TOUR 2011

The biggest Power/Melodic Metal band in the world is returning to Australia for two shows only! Performing to an all age show in Sydney for the very first time ever on Friday 30th September 2011 and then heading to Melbourne for their last show in Australia on the 3rd of October 2011, this will be MUST SEE experience and a compulsory event on your calendar.

Performing tracks off their recent smashing chart topping album, ?At The Edge Of Time' and playing the fan favourites stemming back from 1988 until now, there is no other live show like BLIND GUARDIAN. Supported by Australia's premiere power metal band, ?Black Majesty' along with Australia's premiere Power/Prog act, ?Eyefear', coincidentally marking that acts new album release, this will not be another live show where band members stand around a stage, this will be an experience that will be etched into your memories forever and a day.

If you missed them last time around, DO NOT miss them this time; you may just miss your last opportunity to see BLIND GUARDIAN in Australia!

Tickets:

http://www.metalmassacre.com.au/

Cheap tickets, now to book a flight and hotel room..

Anyone know much about the venues over there, like which one is likely to be better? Not been to either city before.  Was swinging more towards the melb side since its not all ages.. but either is fine i guess.

yeah its pretty much the new SS album.. Maybe the lyrics are a bit different to SS but its really to similar. I didnt mind SS new cd it wasnt that bad, the music was still really good so for me was worth the purchase. It just means I have to get 2 different cd's to make up for what one used to do :(
