Sweet, yeah it has mids C_christ, Im not gonna go into effects ect that will take away the point in me trying to keep my rig simple.
Having 1 eq to me seems only benificial in that there is less resistance from all the other eq wiring ect ect? I may be talking out my ass there though. Someone please correst me if I am.

Yeah ill have a play around soon enough and see what i come up with, I only really need clean and distortion, I also use a overdriven blues kinda sound but that wont be hard to get, as will a lead sound which i dont really use coz I dont solo in any of sins songs..yet.

A few reveiws ive read have said the eq is very sensative with the BM but thats ok with me.

I'm just curious if Engl can sort of do the same thing but with one of the many Engl footswitches you so conveniently have to purchase separate to the amp itself. The RB doesnt say anything about it and it has the wierd PC connection for the footswitch not midi so im not sure if it can.

Im gonna try and go in with my guitar and pedalboard to try the blackmore one more time and make sure I can be happy with only having 1 eq to use between 4 channels.

Ok quick update, It looks like its gonna be the blackmore for the win..powerball sounded too undefined and will have to be cranked to get a good sound..not hard to do in my situation but yer..

Blackmore sounded awsome on the level I played it at so i cant imagine how itl sound cranked to jam levels.

Only problem...Shared EQ..
If I get the z5 footswitch can i assign different EQs to the channels and it stores them?

Also its rigged with 6l6's, id be keen to hear what the Blackmore would be like with El34's.

So atm it stands a Engl Bm and either matching cab or Vader if I can get my hands on one...

Discuss..(anything but 5150's, Dont care its not what I want so suck it up and be happy that you like the 5150...Sam)

Peace out  :headbang:

What are we suppose to do, Ignore it?

Then well get the boy who cried wolf sydrome and one day someone dumb enough to actually express themselves like that will come along and actually think they made a difference cause none of us bored at work folk fought back.

Its that one person who may get away with it, ya cant have that happening.

I really wish you all the best with your project dude, I hope it comes together quite quickly and you actually get a gig.

Ill even come down to check ya shit out, in fact let me know when its on and ill bring the whole of the metal community to celebrate the original and exciting music you plan on playing.

I tell ya what, since you sound like such a worldly and easy to get along with guy, ill make sure we all clap once you've finished the set and give ya a big slap on the back and congratulate you on blowing our minds.

Il even make sure I buy you a nice big glass of your drink of choice. Nice glass of shut the fuck up perhaps?

If its too hot in the venue ill even get them to turn on the man conditioning for ya.

Then you can sit me down and explain why any of us should take anything you say seriously and convince us not set your house on fire while you and your family is asleep.

Also while I'm there ill let you know how much of an impact you and your band has made on the world.

Ill also ask questions like:

1.) What distribution will you have for your material now that you've just pissed everyone off, in which everyone is friends or knows the biggest supporters of Perth Metal?

2.)What sort of crowd do you think you will pull when the whole Perth Metal community would rather see you hanging by the flesh of your cervix, just remember, not everyone in the PMC goes on Wf, but word does go around, and you know how much we "metro core loving gossip monger's" love a good rant

3.) Why are you so fucked up?

4.) Are you ok with people laughing in your face and shitting on your family name?

5.) Are you ok with the option of killing youself when you realise how big of a failure you are?
If you need help refer to the "breakups suck" topic

6.)See those people over there standing and laughing at you?

7.) They hate you and your existence, did you know that?

8.) Is it hard to reproduce asexually?

9.) Are you that big of a fruitcake or are you just really disappointed that you failed the Man-0f-War guitarist auditions?

10.)Why is it that when Nihilist fucks an empty bucket, he claims its tighter than fucking your mum? LOl had to throw in a mum joke.

and finally i may ask

11.) Dude you do realise you've just fucked yourself over with anything to do with anyone ever, for Id say a good 3 or 4 lifetimes.

Anyway I wish you all the best in getting through life. You'll need it.

:headbang: Stay metal, whatever genre your into anyway.

Ah k might look em up, I have shitty speakers on my computer so I feel looking at vids will do the amp no justice. Ill keep an eye out though.

Yer I can a mxr custom OD pedal that I used with the dual rec, so i prepared when the time comes, just trying to keep pedals on the downlow

Nah not yet I plan for saturday to drop into billies as I went last thurs night after eating weetbix stoned and forgot it doesnt stay open for latenight...

Yes I assumed the framus would be like that, which is why I havnt been overly keen to try em out..
Ritchie BM stack is going for 4200 atm at BH sounds tempting and it did sound pretty phat when I played it awhile ago, although that was through 2x 2x12's? 2x10's?

Ill shall keep you's updated, for whatever reason that you care enough that I find "my"tone...Thanks heaps though lol

Ha too funny.

Aww cute little puppies,

They look like expensive dogs, I reckon id get some sweet cash if I sold them on the Blackdog Market.

Ok, my humorwell has dried up, time for nandos..or maccas im good eiether way.

And T-reese you have a very good point with the travelling bit.

Iron Guardian, id consider that idea, women are cheap in asian countries and you can get em real young.

Lol ok ive gone too far even for my standards.

Take a small holiday with a friend/s and see where it takes you, seeing a bit more of the world really does open your eyes to how small you really are and that theres so much more to do and live for and all that crap.

Disclaimer:

In no way do I endorse the use of crack and pills to keep skinny.

I have a fucked up metablism in which I constantly have the body of a 14 year old girl minus the budding bosoms, but add the penis of a wilderbeast.

All the other stuff about slapping whores about and what not, go for ya life lol

Oh your gonna need alot of Valis if ya wanna overdose, just look up how heath ledger died and you should be able to find the 2 painkillers he used which reacted badly and caused him to die...

Disclaimer:

In no way do I endorse the use of medications in assisting in suicide.

If your gonna do it, go the way of the shocking prezzie and hang urself, only make sure the belt/rope is secure and it doesnt give way like when i tried.. ???

Like i said if symptoms persist..see a doctor.

Dude it does suck being dumped, I seperated couple months ago and its been pretty fucked...

When ya get back out to seeing chicks you either end up sleeping with girls who you dont really want anything to do with but fuck but they end up wanting to marry you and weld themselves to you

or

the ones you want to be with are just happy being single and dont give a fuck about anything but going out and dancing and being young women....

all i can say is the only thing that will love you and never disspoint you, is food.

Whenever i feel bad i eat, and because im skinny and dont get fat *thanks crack and pills!* i dont have to worry about getting overwieght.

Seriously though, if you feel that bad see a fucking doctor, not to get meds or anything but talking to someone like that helps alot. If you dont already have someone in ur religeous facaulty to talk to see a shrink.

If ya really wanna milk it say ur not sleeping and getting anxiety attacks nd they may give you some vali's or mazzapan ect and when you feel down enough at least youll have something you can OD on and not leave a mess like the dude in the US who cut his head off with a chainsaw.

Im not tryn to take the piss just suggesting that from experiance seeing a head doctor does help.
Either that or go down to club 316 and spray some nut butter in the eye of whichever hooker looks like ur ex the most, then slap her round a bit and spit on her and take out ur fustration..hell you can pay em extra and they let ya do it  8)

Yes it does suck to be me, I hate not being able to find something im happy with, ive gotten the cleans and crunches i love but never the brutal gain im after...Somewhere between fear factorys digimortal (line6 amps ive been told) gojiras From mars to sirius (5150) SYL's alien (5150) and Mastodons Remission ( various marshalls and other odd amps)  and nevermores dead heart in a dead world (5150 or Krank?)

Its hard cause when i mention that sorta stuff i get the "just get a 5150" ..ive played a 5150, standard and modded and yer it sounds good, its just a tad too dry and not saturated enough for what im after.
I played a JCM 800 combo ages ago fuck knows which model but that was sorta of close to what i like only back then I wasnt down tuning, in a band and had way less knowledge about stuff..i do know that it sounded like a phat beast that if i had it now i would make it scream like my my ex girlfriend when i had my hand around her...ok lets leave it at that.

where you guys jam Rotten? Hopefully NOR as thats where sins jam...

If not then its a trip to mega music and a long wait til the dollar becomes good again....

Cheers again folks :headbang: legends

Cheers dude I will need all the luck as ive been through marshalls, randalls, mesa's, peavys and fenders well the metalhead anyway which is the closest to what I want only its doesnt have the actually oomph just the tone...

What would be cool though is if you could explain to me how you obtained this mythical vader cab... :hmm:

Nah im not gonna judge it from slipknots tone lol im sure they used alot of differnt amps for recording anyway..

2k ? Hmm sounds tempting what cab would you suggest to go with it though? Something with V30's or the V12's?

Ill do some looking up..which model is it though? Theres a few differnt types eh? Please tell me its the k-tre' that thing looks sweet.

This may end up be cheaper than I thought, means i can pump more money into hookers...amongst other things. :hmm:

Yes im pretty interested in the vader cabs, and yeah Erics Krank rig is pretty sweet..

The VHT and Vader cab sounds like an interesting combo, let me know how you go with that. Only problem is locating these items, sounds like the vader cab is easy enough but the VHT sounds like a different story...

Hmmm maybe the powerball with mercury magnetic tranny upgrade and tube replacement and bias would sound good with the vader cab  :-\

Ah im pretty sure geoffs finished guitars for "alwaysborn" so im sure he will give the fiddy1fiddy back, although he may be attached to it by his teeth.

Yeah ive heard of the knucklehead, i think jim root used to use em before he started using the orange amps...meh slipknot aint the flavour im looking for but im curious none the less, do you know how much these pauppies go for?

Its cool dude if your still @ billies i'll come see ya soon.
No need to talk me into a sale, im 65% convinced already.

Owned a dual rec, was cool but to get a sound I wanted, not what everyone else wants i had to run a mxr custom overdrive and a bbe sonic maximizer..trying to keep pedals pretty basic, amp->delay->Noise supressor->tuner->wah

Also i found dual rec just didnt have that type of gain i was looking for, was loud as fuck and i enjoyed the sound i could get from it but it just didnt have that creamyness to the dist..hopeing the engl with its sweeter mids with help that.

I shall be at hydes at some point in time.

I'm really interested in getting one as well, quiet like the sound of the powerball although I've heard the invaders very good as well. Quiet a few of the bigger tech death bands use them so there's a benchmark for recorded sound.

Was thinking about the invader but im happy with a 100watter I dont want to have to drive the invader(150watt?) hard enough to get a good and phat sound..

Quote
awsome amps! the powerball has really clean cleans with plenty of head room and the dirtortion channel rips, more gain than a mesa! however, the power ball is just a metal amp, not the most versitile amp unless your using pedals, i havnt used the ritchy before but would imagine its pretty decent

Thats ok I only want a metal amp, if i need something else later ill a/b it with something maybe an ol fender.

Quote
Powerballs sound great in a room and live but are almost universally derided as a recording amp, the only band I can think of that has recorded with them is The Haunted on their albums after Revolver, and can't say I enjoy the move from fiddies

Sam, do i really have to remind you why i dont wanna use a 5150? lol
Im not too concernd about that as the bulk of what we do is play live and in a room, recording can be done with amps that we hire, borrow or pimp ourselves out to buy.

Quote
I know 2 credible amp techs who have both said to stay away from newer ones as they are costantly in for repair & hard to get parts for. No point having a killer tone if the amp doesn't work.

Krank on the other hand seem to have gotten their act together & have worked out all the bugs they previously had.

I suggest a VHT, you can come try mine if you want buddy as no shop in Perth stocks em.

Jim @ blueglow? Did my dual rec not long ago, how new are we talking coz im gonna buy brand spankers?
Was thinking about the kranks aswell, rev+ maybe?

VHT? I would be insanly interested to play this thing, Im keen to get one but I have no idea where to obtain one, ebay i guess.
Maybe something can be aranged for the baby to be brought to hollywood geoffs place as im 5 secs round the corner.
If things go well maybe youd take some cash for the hire of it as Sins are booked in for march to record.

Im curious about the steve morse aswell, seen it in guitar world and it seems pretty decent.

Thanks for the feed back ppl, next step is to trynd make time for some amp testing at billy hydes as that the only place i know that sells Engls,

anyone know of anywhere else, preferably NOR.

Hey im thinking aboot purchasing an Engl head and cab and just wondering if anyone has had any experiance with em
im looking at either the powerball or ritchie blackmore.

Any feedback just drop a line and itl be much appreciated,

Oh Ive read reviews and im gonna try and find some to actually play providing spilly fides has some in stock, so before anyone goes and tells to me to just play one im actually after some other types of feedback and comments about these mystical german bulldykes.

Cheers :headbang:

Hey ive got a version of soundforge and i want to know if you can layer thing with it as ive only recorded one instrument on it so far (guitar) and also used multiple mics through a mixer into my laptop via ediol usb interface. I want to be able to record a guitar track and then layer another over the top ..is this possible through soundforge?

Eventually i want to be able to do guitars, drums, bass ect all seperatly then mix them into 1 track...

Should i just get Protools?
