Seen this on other forums and it's pretty darn useful. Half the time when people post just a link I've gotta be honest.. I don't even bother clicking on it most of the time, new window.. new website etc. Being a music website/forum - being able to embed video's, music and other clips would be pretty handy on here and probably pick discussion up some. But on the negative it'd probably clock up the monthly usage quicker would it not?

Ive thought about this for AGES, but since the front page hasnt even been updated since October, and there are on average, about 5 posts per DAY on here (as opposed to the good old days of 20 posts per hour), I'd say its hardly worth the effort. Great idea though...

More people in the crowd.

ALL gigs are better when all of your friends are there. Its the punters who make the night great!

here here. At the occasional gig where my entire crew is there (all 12-15 or so of us) the nights are ALWAYS better.

for me, its purely about the bands. I dont care what venue, I can have fun at all of them. When deciding whether to go to a gig or not, its the lineup I look at and nothing else - if theres only one band Im interested in, they have to be a good one (Psychonaut, Chaos, Enforce, Voyager etc), but if there are 2 bands Im half keen on seeing theres a good chance you'll see me there... unless its in Freo. Fire breathing, sausage sizzles, raffles and all that are just gimmicks as far as Im concerned.

If you really want to get people through the door Rowland, free beer would be the ultimate incentive.  ;)

yeah, well done. Thats totally awesome. Naturally I was at the Alestorm show and I think you 2 bands are a perfect pair, and I also believe you guys certainly held your own - in fact, I enjoyed your set just as much as Alestorms, and thats saying something. Good luck with it all, and when I get some spare cash I'll be sure to buy a shirt or hoodie or something. Maybe a G-string for casual dress days at work ;)

sucks bigtime, glad i got to see this band.

me too. Im glad I got to be front row centre, and copping every coloured liquid possible, including Oderus's jizz shot right in my mouth. He seemed pleased with himself too. Looked me in the eye like a good, caring man should when he is shooting spoonta in your face. ah, meeeemories!

Bush? Wow, havent heard anything from those guys in YEARS! Gwen's musical career must have come to a standstill so Gavin has to get back on stage.

I'M SO EXCITED MY ANUS JUST PROLAPSED.

Best anticipation comment of the year!! Gold!!   :headbang:

if only he meant it. The excitement bit I mean. The anal prolapse was always going to happen regardless of which thread he was in.

Yeah we get that alot! We didnt really write the Ep with vocals in mind but the album we are currently working on will have a few tracks with guest vocals, one of them being Rich from Vespers Descent  Smiley
Drew, let me be the first to warn you - For as long as your band is together, people are going to continually tell you that you need a singer. It will be unavoidable. :)

this man knows first hand!

Could this be finally be the end of the BDO?!

I kinda hope so, but at the same time it will mean all those cockheads who go to festivals because its a festival (as opposed to going for the music) will now probably try to infiltrate our Soundwave fests. It seems these are the kind of people who act like dicks, so keep the BDO for that kind, and leave Soundwave for metaheads.

Voyager's 'style' of music is one that I virtually never listen to.

Having said that, Voyager are fucking awesome live. It's like a musical experience not just a bunch of songs.

That's pretty much exactly what I was saying. You know a band is good when you can enjoy them live, have a great time, dance, scream, jump, headbang and you rarely, if ever listen to them at home. In saying that, Meaning of I has been on quite high rotation for me lately. It sounds super impressive on good headphones. Truly a world class act. I only have one gripe - I woke up this morning with bee bup bup budup boo stuck firmly inside my head. Fucking scatman!

68
so half of this thread was about how Voyager werent worthy of the support and that they only got it because of connections, not on their own merits. Anyone want to eat their words? I have a spoon you can borrow if you like.

Man, Voyager are awesome live, even if its not really your style of metal. They ALWAYS perform. I have seen them half a dozen times and I have never been let down, and in fact, starting off as someone who didnt like their music I can say they certainly turned me around. They totally outperformed Bodom last night, no doubt about that.

Tonight  :headbang:

Last night!!

Was a cool gig, for sure. The sound was pretty fucked for CoB and they certainly werent nearly loud enough. Either way, they fucking shred and I find it hard to keep my eyes away from Alexi's fret board.

Voyager kicked arse too! In fact, they may have almost stolen the show. Was great to see Ash slide into the drums beautifully, and watching Boeijen sitting behind the desk beaming like a proud father or something.
