It's pretty cool ! ... more melodic (especially the vocals). but it seems a natural progression from Blood Mountain.

Came out of the pit with only half my jeans remaining and a concussion but it was still an awesome set! I actually watched more of Mastodon than i did of Slayer haha

They have been opening for Slayer EVERYWHERE & as far as i read they are one of the few bands that can

Got sent the Mastodon "Crack The Skye" CD/DVD today from Warner Music, which is a bit better than the usual fare of stuff like HIM, Linkin Park and Static X (which have only been much use of going to girlfriends interested in that stuff). Haven't listened to / watched it yet so I'll see what it's like. I have a huge pile of cds to listen to for the Australian Metal Awards judging first though.
