Nervecell have now included an additional 3 headlining shows live in Dubai prior to the band?s Desert Rock Festival performance set to take place on March 6, 2009.

The band is really looking forward to tear down the home stages back to back and plan to continue touring outside the U.A.E through the rest of the year in support of the latest release "Preaching Venom". So don?t forget to mark your calendars and catch Nervecell live at the following dates:

27.2.2009...Touch Bar, Four Points Sheraton (Rock Nation) - 12
midnight

28.2.2009...Jimmy Dix Club, Movenpick Hotel (Metal Asylum) - 10 pm

28.2.2009...Submarine Club, Dhow Palace Hotel (The Strong South Event) - 12 midnight

6.3.2009....Desert Rock Festival @ Dubai Festival City (with Motorhead, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Chimaira & others)

These are some shows I'll be playing with Dubai (UAE) Thrash/Death band 'Nervecell' in the coming weeks. Hope to see you all there ;)

Hahaha.... actually, the more i read this thread the more i think back about what a great time we had in Dubai.

- Daz and Kylee getting detained and frisk searched @ the airport by Dubai customs and immigration as soon as we landed, while me and Kate got let straight through! ;D

- Getting lost in the poor quarter of Dubai (where our hotel was located) after going exploring and Kate and Kylee getting leered at by every curry muncher labourer in sight! ;D

- The rock bar on the mezzanine level of our hotel (the highland hotel in Bur Dubai) where for "salty, thirst inducing nibbles" they served popcorn in little finger bowls rather than salted peanuts etc. One night in there, i spilled 1/2 my pint into one of these bowls :err:

- The philipino hard rock / metal band playing covers with some of the funniest (for black sabbath N.I.B) "cant remember the REAL words so we substitute our own lyrics" ever!

- The speed slide and tubing at Wild Wadi water park ;D

- The HUGE Mall of the emirates complete with indoor snow field and ski slope at a constant climate controlled -3 degrees! ;D

- The desert 4WD tour (rough riding in a Landcruiser up and down some killer Sand Dunes) which made the American tourist woman in the seat in front of us YODEL. Also the driver getting bogged in the sands dunes was classic too ;D

- Gorman the friendly level 6 head of house keeping ;D

- Kylee and Katie going off on a shopping adventure at 1pm and not returning to the hotel til 10:30pm (after a 2hr taxi ride = SHAFTED by a dodgy taxi driver who just drove them around in circles!) :P

- Dubai hotel kitchen staff's interpretation of a "banana split" ;D

THE FUROR TOURED THE EASTERN STATES WITH THEM IN 07 AND WE KEPT IN TOUCH AFTERWARDS VIA EMAIL.WHEN THEIR DRUMMER LEFT THEM,JUST BEFORE DESERT ROCK 08,THEY CONTACTED ME AND ASKED IF I WANTED TO COVER FOR THAT SHOW.I WAS HELL KEEN!
THAT SHOW WENT VERY WELL AND ONE SHOW TURNED INTO MANY :P
THEY'RE THE COOLEST DUDES YOU'LL EVER MEET.DESPITE THE LACK OF ACCEPTANCE TO METAL IN THE MIDDLE EAST,THEY STILL WORK REAL HARD FOR THE EXPOSURE THEY GET.

Out of interest how many people roughly do they get to the desert rock gigs? How many to the more loval shows?

Well done. Must be pretty decent to play on the same lineup with some of the bands you have the last two years over there!

Last years Desert Rock had a total of about 18,000 people I think.That's spread out over 2 days.
This years event is for 1 day only,we'll see how it goes.
The average local show in Dubai draws about 200 people,similar to our shows here, but they're far more infrequent there. Maybe 4 shows a year,usually initiated by Nervecell.

Good to see Perth is getting atleast a lil bit of expossure in other ways through this to, its can be hard getting our shit out there to the global market.

THE PROMOTERS WERE FILIPINO, AS WAS 90% OF THE CROWD.
WHAT A CRAZY SHOW IT WAS! THE FILIPINO METAL COMMUNITY IN DUBAI HAVE LITTLE TO NO REGARD FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY! EXCELLENT!

ANy inside dirt on the possibility of an australian tour? I would give my right nut or first born (whichever you'd prefer) to see nervecell. The album is right up there on my regular play list still after what must be at least six months since picking it up.

THERE MIGHT BE SOME OZ SHOWS BUT THEY'LL BE AFTER OCT (IF AT ALL).THERE'S SOME REAL COOL INTERNATIONAL STUFF PLANNED UP UNTIL THEN TO KEEP THEM BUSY. THEY ARE REALLY KEEN TO COME BACK HERE THOUGH. THEY LOVED IT LAST TIME.
