Elton John - Tiny Dancer

+1

For me? Anything by No Doubt. Not Gwen Stefani's solo stuff though.

yup big on no doubt and elton.
went to his concert a few years back, fucking love the classics! tiny dancer, rocketman... and dont forget crocodile rock and bennie and the jets!

What's this "Tiny Dancer" you're talking about?
Is it a different version of the song he wrote dedicated to his favourite actor?
"Hold me closer Tony Danza..."

Midnight Oil

I saw Midnight Oil up here in Gero several years ago. Man, I was expecting SO much more from a seasoned, huge rock band. They were terrible. Absolutely terrible. I guess Peter had politics on his mind because it was on their last tour and within a year he was in government.

my housemates into aphex twin, pretty fucking good for "doof-doof"

most of my "non-metal" guilty pleasures are unknown to the majority of you guys - mago de oz and faun. Other bands which are awesome but not metal aren't really guilty pleasurse as the majority of you like them too - the doors, pink floyd, zeppers, etc
...and on the other a soldier with a bullet wound in his lower belly and his sphincter shot away so that his faeces are leaking out. The smell of excrement mingles with that of the scorching flesh of the corpses being burned in the distance.

Boney M - Ma Baker and Rasputin.
Don't be fooled by the disco music. The lyrics to both of these songs are brutal, voilent and dark.

Joy Division, NIN, Bowie, Queen, Elton John, Gary Numan, Lou Reed. Tons of none metal good shit out there.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I just got back from a guilty pleasure... OK, well I took my wife to Rock It for her birthday. I didnt expect to have a great time. It was fucking awesome. None of the bands really grab me that much, although I dont mind some of the older Kings of Leon songs. KoL kicked arse - very true to their album, although they didnt really seem to be getting into it as passionately as we would have hoped.... I have been told that they are like that though. A little bit too laid back, but good none the less. Birds of Tokyo stole the show though. Those guys really know how to work a crowd, and they played perfectly from what I could tell. The Stills, an indie/rock type band from Canada were also surprisingly impressive. I felt a bit out of place, but I didnt mind.

So you'll come down to go to ROCK-IT for your wifes birthday but not come down to smash on with metalheads for DAZZAZ birthday?
