Saturday Night Thrash Attack - 9th of May @ The Castle

UPDATED DETAILS:

When: 9th of May, Saturday night, 8pm.
Where: The Castle, Northbridge, crn Stirling and Newcastle.
What: Potentially the first gig in a line of metal nights at The Castle. Thrash(y) Theme.
Who: Currently, Threshold, LifeBlood and All This Filth. Secret Headliner to be revealed later...
How much: The usual, $10.




I know there are two metal gigs on the 8th, but haven't heard anything about the 9th yet. Anyone know of anything going on that night?

If there is nothing else big on that night, Iron Guardian Industries and HateFueled Productions will be presenting a show at The Castle. It will be the first of many, as we are looking into hosting regular gigs there, aiming for once a month. While nothing is set in concrete yet, you can expect a wide variety of metal bands, ranging from some of Perth's top talent right down to promising new bands. We hope to be able to offer bands a regular opportunity to gain live experience and achieve some recognition in the scene.

Ok, date and venue confirmed. First choice of bands are being contacted... I'll keep you up to date.

If this first gig goes well, it's quite likely that we'll be given the 2nd Saturday of each month at The Castle as a regular event.

We use to have a really good turn out when we did the monthly Metal Nights at The Castle over the year or so that we did em.

Would be good to see some regular metal gigs on at The Castle again :)

Thanks for the support guys.

Although this first gig may end up being a little rushed (2 weeks notice), I'm hoping to stick to a thrashy theme for the night, something different to the two gigs on the night before. Running out of local thrash bands to ask though.

Open to suggestions... and can anyone tell me if Fool The World is still active? How about Vespers Descent? Dethratican? All bands that I've heard of before, but nothing about them for a year or so.

Waiting for them to reply... If they can play, "Saturday Night Thrash Attack" would be the gig name  :P



So far, Threshold and All This Filth are able to play. Fairly unknown at the moment, but have plenty of potential, and put on an energetic show every time.

Fool the World i dunno. You'd have to email them/ message on myspace. They were saying awhile back they were going to do shows but now haven't said anything for ages.

What about Plague? Anyone know what they're doing lately. Great band but never seemed/ seem to get going.

Life Blood are able to make it too. Haven't heard of them before? Well neither had I until I stumbled across them and asked them to play  :P

They sound promising according to their myspace page, and they do seem to be quite active around the place since moving here from Geraldton. More suited to play with bands like Gallows For Grace, with their melodic death/metalcore sound, but they should still fit an energetic thrasy lineup. As Stormrider said, their ain't much pure thrash in Perth.

All we need now is a headliner, and we're all set to go!

Poster is coming along well, despite not having the full lineup confirmed, and one band not even having a logo yet :p


Sorry for such short notice all round, but if this gig goes well, the next few will have more time to be organised. I'll also pick a less restrictive theme...

I THINK THEY PEAKED IN 97/98.THEY MADE A HUGE IMPRESSION I'LL NEVER FORGET.THEY ALWAYS PUSHED US TO GET MORE INTENSE BACK IN THE PAGAN DAYS :err:

Hmmm, actually the image name was there to remind me which one didn't have that band's logo on it, when I was editing them. Got about 5 different versions, the latest have all the mistakes fixed up, including the correct time the doors open.

Gone and changed the file name just to preserve the mystery a little longer  :eyebrows:

Wouldnt it be a better idea to let people know the name of the headlining band in the last week? Chances are some people may not see the announcement and you'll find people wont show up unless they really wanna see the other bands... Sad but true, you cant rely on people to rock up on the chance that there 'may' be a good band playing that night.
