Anyone into Boating???
« on: April 30, 2009, 11:53:23 PM »
Hey, I just bought this Mustang 18 footer, 115 hp mercury outboard.
Plenty of deck space and a nice stereo for cranken the tunes while we fish. Does about 35 Knots.

We took it out on the river and it rides beautifully. Anyone into boating?

Mustang

We have/had an old plonker Mustang, 23 footer I believe.... except dad took it with him....bah!
I think we got it over 40 knots in the Mandurah Estuary one day.... was flat as :)
Good times!

Is it sad that the only photo I could find of it was on the google maps view of our house? :P

That is an old plonker, solid trailer though. They are good boats, mine is 25 years old.

The only car that can tow it is a V8 landcruiser with really good breaks  ;)

I have no idea how old ours is, we got it when I was 8 or 9 :D

Maybe she is being English and needs to have a break every 10 minutes / 500m of travel per roadtrip? ;D

My Grandpa used to have a wikid Motor Boat. Not sure if I have any photos of it tho, it is very similar to Terri's but orange in colour. But when we stayed at yunderup(Mandurah) for holidays. My dad would take me and my brother out crabbing in the inlet. As well as around the river. Was great fun. My Grand father was a very smart man tho. He welded up a electronically powered winch to lower the boat in and out of the water.  The boat itself had an extra out board motor incase the main motor shat itself and a set of oars.

Yeah, i'm going to get an auxiliary motor, probably a 10hp. Could come in handy one day. Besides I have a little dinghy I could use it on to.

I was hoping to find someone on here with a boat and arrange a day out with a few crew.

Well my dad is an oldschool "metalhead"... we're talking Led Zepp/Deep Purple/ACDC the heaviest.... and he loves most of my mates (especially the Rocky crew as that's his origin) ... so if you ever wanted to organise a day... I'm sure he would love the outing, and having a few of ya carnts on our boat :)

Hey..... anyone ever dragged a boat? That'd be kinda fun!

Are you referring to anyone in particular? :P
