Coated strings

In my time playing guitar, ive noticed that coated strings seem to last longer and sound generally better.
Ive recently begun tuning to B standard and the heaviest coated guage i can find is 52...id much rather have something in the 56-60 range, anyone know any brands that do coated strings this heavy?

yeah ive tried both makes, unfortunately my fingers seem to sweat a fuckload or something as uncoated strings always seem to rust up pretty quickly, lookin for heavier guage coateds

Tried looking into Elixirs, Chubbsworth? I don't know anyone who's forked the cash out for them personally (well, at least Elixir bass strings cost a bit), but I'm under the impression they're considered some of the best strings you can buy.

yeah tried elixers, there fucken great but 52 is a bit slack for my liking in B standard. and 68 is just fucked.

Solution - tune back up to something civilised. Or just change strings regularly and wipe them down after playing, and not just a wipe over the fretboard, I mean get a cloth and grab each string individually while wiping down thoroughly.

i already do this, but they still seem to rust out the arse.

B standard is civilised, especially in the scope of 7/8 string guitars (and 5/6 string basses). :D

I just saw on the Ernie ball website that they have titanium coated strings now. They have the not even slinky 12-56's as the heaviest.

Use metho to clean your strings. It stops em rusting & leaves a fine coating as well.

For bass players who occaisionally boil strings, soaking them overnight in a sealed container in metho works just as well to restore tone, without the rusting issue.
