After their last album/touring cycle...Burton went to work on his "Ascension of the Watchers" project, and Christian and Ray started writing new material without him and eventually decided to start a new band called Arkaea with Jon Howard and Pat Kavanagh from Threat Signal on Vox/Bass. (Their CD comes out next month, have a listen here...its pretty much Fear Factory minus Burton: http://www.myspace.com/arkaeamusic)

Then earlier this year Bell and Dino annoucned they were buddies again and were re-forming Fear Factory, with Gene and Byron.

EDIT: After checking their myspace, Christian were also involved in a mini 7 a side soccer tournament to raise money for the Victorian Bushfire relief funds...thats pretty damn nice of them to do something for the Australian public like that!

I just hope they ignore their last album, even Digimortal had a few good songs on it, but not that one. But $67 is worth it for Mr Hoglan alone. I was a little more than dissapointed when he didn't come to Perth on his recent clinic tour.

It'd be fairly cool if Dino brought over Divine Heresy with 'em, if I remember correctly they're not half bad (especially with an ex-Nile drummer at the skins).

I wouldn't stress mate, I say this with no knowledge of the situation but it sounds like a "I'm just borrowing the keys to the FF" tour.

they'll give 'em back once the tour's over and things'll return to their normal distant memory.

Unless someone in the band has had gastric bypass then I think that this will be one of the most outta shape bands ever. As long as they play some old classics I don't give a fuck.

Correction ex-Nile bassist. Ex-Decrepit Birth session drummer. Also Devolved's drummer John Sankey also played with Divine Heresy for a bit.

"On April 7, 2009, Burton C. Bell and ex-guitarist Dino Cazares announced the reconciliation of their friendship, and the formation of a new project with Stroud on bass and drummer Gene Hoglan (Death, Strapping Young Lad). On April 28th, this project was revealed to actually be a new version of Fear Factory, minus Herrera and Wolbers.[24] Bell, when asked why Herrera and Wolbers were not included, stated that "[Fear Factory]'s like a business and I'm just reorganizing...We won't talk about [their exclusion]".[25]
In June 2009, Christian Olde Wolbers and Raymond Herrera finally spoke about the issue on the radio program "Speed Freaks". Instead of offering reasons for leaving the group, Herrera revealed that technically, he and Wolbers never left. "[Christian and I] are actually still in Fear Factory...[Burton and Dino] decided to start a new band, and furthermore, they decided to call it Fear Factory. They never communicated with us about it", said Herrera.[26] Herrera went on to say that the original four members (Bell, Cazares, Wolbers, and himself) are contractually regarded as Fear Factory Incorporated, and said "it's almost like them two against us two, so it's kind of a stalemate."
Herrera also stated that he and Wolbers had written eight songs for the next Fear Factory record, but that a "personal disagreement" had come up between them and Bell, which left Bell unwanting to continue work with the band.[27]
The Fear Factory featuring Bell and Cazares will make its live debut on June 21st in the Metalway Festival in Zaragoza, Spain."
