Spawn of Possession News - new lineup announced
« on: June 25, 2009, 06:51:19 PM »
Well...as it happens i'm singing on the new SoP album - and it's kinda of exciting I guess. Anyway, here's the news:

Taken from post made by main/founding member Jonas Bryssling on the Spawn Of Possession Board at SMNNEWS.COM:

Quote from: bryzz
Two very talented and competent musicians has recently joined Spawn of Possession.
Matthew Chalk (Ex-Psycroptic) is going to handle the vocal and lyric writing.
Christian Muenzner (Obscura, Ex-Necrophagist) is going to do the Lead Guitar part and unleash his madness
into the multicoloured and distorted universe of Spawn of Possession. The Line-up is now complete:

Vocals - Matthew Chalk
Bass - Erlend Caspersen
Drums - Richard Schill
Guitar - Christian Muenzner
Guitar - Jonas Bryssling

Just in case any of those newer names look familiar, these are some of the bands they've been in or are in:

Erlend Caspersen: Blood Red Throne, Decrepit Birth (album), Vile (album), Deeds of Flesh, and more
Richard Schill - Shining, Livsnekad
Christian Muenzer - Obscura, Ex- Necrophagist, Ex-Defeated Sanity

So, i'm pretty honoured to be part of it!!
Hope it all works out well, and hope this news is of interest to some of you!

Man, bit of an all star lineup there! Congrats dude!
When did Erlend join the band anyway? His work on Incinerate's latest has been blowing me away.

Um, I think he's been involved for nearly a year now. Or at least, been slated for the bass duties and was locked in. Can't wait, it's gonna be fun!

Best of luck, i was listening to Noctambulant, trying to imagine what pattern Chalk would do over it ...

Fuck man, well done!

You will be a great addition to a sick band!

Just make sure you convince them to tour Australia....every 6 months.

Haha a little birdy eh? A sexy birdy no doubt
Jetsetting? Maybe. But it isn't the main focus for now. Recording is the current #1 and main priority for myself (and SoP it seems). So, we'll do that, then go from there.

Congrats dude, sick gig!

If they come to Aus, they'll come to Tas for sure

Thanks dude
I hope if they tour on the album, they'll descend upon our shores!

Thats awesome news, can't wait to hear more of your vocal gymnastics. But whats the fate of Mephistopheles and Iciclan?

There will be no impact on either band. Mephistopheles is my priority vocally. Iciclan is my project, it means a lot to me, and it will live on unencumbered. The only time it may have an issue, is if I tour with them. And it'll be as simple as time away from my other bands. But other than that, the only other ways I can see it impacting those bands are postive really - exposure, raising profiles, etc.
