Sorry chaps, but allow me to interject.

Babylon 5, the all time best sci fi show of all time. It's so dick smashingly good.

Also I think Jez might appreciate Saxondale.

Anyone watched the first episode of The Pacific (kinda the follow up to Band Of Brothers) yet? I downloaded it last night but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet...

I've never watched B5.  I did watch a couple of seasons of this stupid show called "Andromeda" or something and it put me off the genre a fair bit.

Why would I like Saxondale?  Never even heard of it.

Dan, thanks fopr that, I didn't know it had started airing.  I am gonna watch it today since I have been commanded by a doctor to stay off my feet for a week.  I DL Sherlock Holmes last night, I thought that was a cool movie.

Character summary for main lead. stolen from Wiki

Tommy Saxondale
Middle-aged pest-controller Tommy Saxondale (Steve Coogan) is the survivor of a hostile divorce who now lives with his girlfriend, Magz, proprietor of the anarchic T-shirt shop "Smash the System". Tommy speaks with an East Midlands accent and occasionally refers to his Nottingham heritage, though he and Magz live in Hertfordshire. An ex-roadie, Tommy regards himself as a maverick and a free thinker and takes every opportunity to impart his wisdom to his young assistant, Raymond; most of the time, however, the wisdom he imparts is not quite as sound as he likes to think. In his line of work, as well as Pharaoh ants, mice, and occasionally moths, Tommy has to battle with snowboarders, pigeon-loving activists, and people who talk about property prices. Tommy knows his own mind and isn't afraid to speak it; unfortunately, Tommy also has anger management problems, and when those around him don't give him quite the level of respect he feels he deserves, it tends to lead to explosions of temper that result in a few more visits to the anger management course. Tommy is devoted to his Ford Mustang Mach 1, although he drives the much less macho Renault Kangoo for work, a fact that he refuses to let affect his fierce sense of dignity. As he insists, it's not 'Kangaroo', it's 'Kangoo'. Tommy also resents the fact that people often remind him throughout the series that he never toured with Led Zeppelin.

Thats why ;)

Okay so I watched the first episode of the Pacific last night and I was very impressed. I was a huge fan of BoB so I was kinda wary as to whether the new one would be able to pull it off but they've done a great job! Its not 100% action in the first episode due to setting up the characters but the action I did see was very well done. Seems to have a decent cast too - nowhere near as many well known actors as BoB but they carry it off brilliantly.

Now I just have to wait for the next episode  :wall:

Yeah, I've been hanging out for it, but I think I'll wait until it's finished going to air, then I can watch it at my own leisure and speed.

How can you like Birdman and not Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Sealab 2021?!

Sorry about regenerating an old thread for this, but I have to say that you are spot on there old girl.  I downloaded 7 seasons of ATHF and watched the show from the start.  First season is pretty average but it just gets more and more munted and twisted as you go.  I am totally addicted now.

So good call.

For such a twisted and seemingly random show it really does help to watch it start to finish. The characters definitely do develop in their own little ways.

Goes for any TV show really. If I don't watch it from episode 1, I rarely get into it until I do watch it in order.

30 Rock just finished season 4, wasn't as good as first 3 but still not bad.

Better off Ted.. though that got cancelled recently before it finished airing the 2nd season.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia is good stuff that we in Australia are only starting to watch in the last year or so but it's been running for ages.

Been a while since I went searching for new shows...

Outrageous Fortune season 6 soon! Best show ever.

IT Crowd season 4 soon also. (Pretty sure this is the first show of Graham Linehan's (Father Ted/Black Books) to go past a 3rd season).

Burn Notice.
Fuck yes!
Vagrancy wasn't it? That's gonna look real good on his grave stone in Arlington: Here lies John Rambo, winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor, survivor of countless incursions behind enemy lines. Killed for vagrancy in Jerkwater, USA.

30Rock is funny for sure, and It's always Sunny in Philadelphia is an absolute riot.  This show is twisted right out of shape, there are no good people anywhere, they are ALL completely degenerate assholes.

Has anyone seen the HBO cartoon "The Life and Times of Tim"?  That is one fucked up show.

By the way, if anyone is interested the first episode of TRUE BLOOD is available for DL.
