All the metal heads in Perth amount to 8?

I remember when "Renewal" came out, loved it.

I haven't heard anything post Coma of Souls save for Enemy of God and that wasn't nearly as bad as some 80's thrash bands turned out, e.g. the big 4.

What's the 90's stuff like?

Renewal is good in parts, but a lot of the songs were mid paced and forgettable. This was the era when the band were choofing too much and started warping.

Cause for Conflict was an attempt to re-capture the speed of the earlier albums but the production was thin and most of the songs unmemorable. This is the album where milles vox also changed significantly (weaker mix ... less memorable)

Endorama and Outcast (neither of which i own or have listened to extensively) were mid paced, experimental and mediocre at best. One one of the albums featured a duet between mille and the singer from lacrimosa (german goth) so that sort of stuff.

A few years later, violent revolution came out and kreator did a 360 and went back to their roots. That and the subsequent albums have all been great SOLID (nothing spectacular but nothing shit) thrash. I particularly like Enemy of god and recently bought Hordes of chaos but havent been giving it much of a listen (was too busy listening to VIOLATOR from Brasil..... now thats some great new old school thrash there!)

Fuck i have to spin TERRIBLE CERTAINTY again.... been MONTHS since i listened to that last!!!! :S

Thats their first full length (i've also got the tshirt!) - a great album but still developing their classic sound.

PLEASURE TO KILL / TERRIBLE CERTAINTY / EXTREME AGGRESSION / COMA OF SOULS = definitive.

But seriously, I've told so many bands to start saving up to get over your way after the awesome time we had in May.  They get all misty eyed over the cost of airfares, but I just serve them a cup of 'harden the fuck up'.  Defs keen to get back out there in 2010.
