Implying that Perth is the biggest market for DT in AUS? I wouldn't pick it just cause Perth is Perth.. how do they even know where their biggest crowds are or will be? Album sales? Previous ticket sales? Merchandise?

it would be some mix of those and then maybe, just like playing in perth so are prepared to limit their margins... :hmm:

I remember hearing an interview with Vinnie Paul when Pantera came in 2001 and he said that most bands didnt go to Perth and he thought that was bullshit. He said that it was more than likely that they were going to lose money, or break even at best to travel to Perth, but there was no way they werent going to come just because of money - fans are more important. Of course, thats clever marketing in its own right because that would inevitably lead to further album and merch sales anyway, because its the best way to gain respect from your fan base, and live shows are often the best way to gain new fans too.

I can picture that coming from Vinnie's mouth, but certainly not Phil's. :D

Some friends and I met Pantera before that show and Vinnie was certainly the most interesting of the lot. We actually met him first out of all of them... walking out of Price Attack in Perth... :-\

Their website says support act is still going to be announced but on Ticketmaster it says it's "an evening with".

Im sure the band gets very little say where they play in fact, and have tour managers that pen in the dates/venues for them.

I'm STILL listening to Black Clouds. Easily their best album yet, IMO. Cant wait for this gig, proper venue too.

Watching their latest live DVD the score love that dvd, i need to get a hold of black clouds and the one before it lol

Their is a Violin or something in the score DVD that is slightly off and it has completely ruined that dvd for me, Budokan or Metropolis would be my fave dvds still

thats true about pretty much every band on earth, but you have no doubt seen the Pantera home vids right? Their tour managers were probably drunker than the band half the time.

cheers for clearing up what I meant to say   8)             yeah and that's quite true, Dt fans, as with those of many other "true" bands have a legion of loyal supporters, so this type of shit strengthens it.......this itune and downlaoding shit may be a good reason why we see more tours, cant rip off being there

Couldn't agree more! So excited now, I would of preferred their own tour, but I'll settle for this.
