« on: August 24, 2009, 05:47:43 PM »
RADIOTHON 2009

It is that time of year again people!

Every year we do what we can to get the listeners to subscribe to RTRFM so we can keep great shows like Critical Mass, Burn the Airwaves, Behind The Mirror, Posted & many more running for another year.

RTRfm can only survive from Public support! It does not rely on high volume commercial advertising (thank god) or government funding.

If you subscribe during Critical Mass (Wednesday 9pm ? 11pm ? 26th August) I will make sure you are rewarded! I have loads of cd?s to give away plus you will go into the running to win some of the following;

-   8 Double Passes to some of Perth Biggest Music Festivals (Big Day Out included)
-   High End Surround Sound System
-   Your choice of 250 cds

How Much?

Youth- $25 (Under 18)

Concession- $40 (Student, Concession)

Standard- $60

Platinum- $200

Band / Performer- $160

Business- $500

Corporate- $1000

Help Keep Public Radio Alive!

***Note Tomorrow I will put up a list of CDs that I will be giving away***

Gee, thats pretty disappointing considering bands are the ones who stand to benefit the most from local metal shows remaining on-air.

I know a few of the indie bands have subscribed from listening to the daytime shows last week.

Well, I guess its not over theres still time to do it.   :)

Brenton, will they send us an account or something in the post ??

To my knowledge I think so.. Alternatively you can go into the station during office hours.. Thanks for your suypport dude! I was going to reply to your message but I was slightly overwhelmed by everything going on.

It really does suck about the band prize not being given away.. $400 worth of artwork / illustrations / photo's for $160..

Orwell..

dissapointing for sure...

Bands are notoriously lazy especially metal heads  . Also the rise of cryspace & other social networking avenues have no doubt lessend the impact/value of radio subscriptions (in their minds).

But I myself discovered many a Local band by tuning into to CM back in the day & later utilised it's services in Promoting Scourge etc . So it really is well worth it

On a more personal note I haven't listen to Critical Mass consistantly since the days of Dyson/magoo (later Kill Machine). I think you guys do ok, but the show lacks the spark it once had  :hmm:

Hahaha.. Nice..

Fair opinion dude.. I do my best to keep the show entertaining. I'm not offended by what your saying as Dysies legacy so to speak is not an easy one to compete with.. That being said with help of my new presenter "Jo" we are hoping to get a bigger audience than Critical Mass has ever had.. Next week the rest of the Claim the Throne crew will be coming in for the night and we'll be doing a live to air acoustic set.. Hopefully stuff like that will be a regular occurrence!
