Christmas Metal Gig Discussion

Has anyone else started to look into this yet? If a Christmas gig is already being planned, then I wont bother with my own. However, if there is nothing going on behind the scenes then we might as well get started with one.


This year Christmas is on a Friday. A lot of people would have other plans already for Christmas night, but otherwise the gig would have to be held a week earlier, on the 19th.

Last years was awesome especially Naetu performing "Deck the halls"  :headbang: 

Any suggestions on bands for this year's performance?

There'll most likely be one on the saturday night before christmas weekend. though i think the castle closes for a while during Christmas? I'll ask wayne. i'm pretty sure though that either christmas sort of time or mid year or something, the castle closes for a few weeks

That would be a boxing day gig then. As most people will be on holiday during that time, Thursday 24th might be a good option.

I'm thinking about the Charles, as it's size would allow us to do more (more people, more budget) than at the Castle. Also not sure if the Castle opens then anyway.

Ah yes, last years event was a cracker! Despite all the delays (and NAETU going on at 1am!) it seems everyone was in the 'festive' spirit. If you missed Naetu slaughtering 'Deck the halls', or simply wish to reminisce, you can find it in full HD on youtube along with a couple of other tracks.

Would have been good to see video footage of all bands, but alas the castles vid system fucked again. Seems to happen whenever I play there, whats that tell ya??? Haha!

Considering in my youth I was forced to play Christmas carols, it'd be right up my alley.
Unfortunately I'm doing the family thing this year, so will be over east for Christmas.

Besides... It's unknown whether inVoid would be really really really unbanned by then  :hmm:
