Gig guide
« on: November 10, 2009, 08:13:44 PM »
Maybe it will be easier to moderate if people can submit gigs to the gig guide themselves. maybe a members only access submission form and these are sent to the mod like the reporting thing, and then they just have to be accepted or denied if they're not legit?

I've changed about 26,982 nappies in the last 5 years. But if you're offering... ;)

The real question is, how many were yours?

HURRR HURR HURRR.
My hands are choking, my knife is broken.
An orgasm is what I need.
Your blood is spilling, the sight is thrilling.
To cum I need to see you bleed.

Sounds like someone is grumpy  :P

I like the idea though of being able to submit gigs to the guide, rather than continually bugging Daz through various means.

It is possible to let certain people add gigs, but I'd have to enable it on a person by person basis. I wouldn't leave it open for anyone because then it would become spam city.

I could probably add you two guys since you are putting on shows fairly frequently now.

This might be worth looking at...

Find a way to make people post ALL gigs on the Gig Guide so it shows up on the Upcoming Events... then heres the clincher... if someone attempts to post a gig on the same night as someone elses then there could be a flag come up, saying something like "Such & Such gig is already booked for that date, are you sure you want to submit details ?"  something like that.
It would be the same concept as when you get WARNINGs when posting that someone has made a post blah blah do you want to continue.

Well I've been busy with a lot of things lately so the gig guide had slipped a bit. Not many people had been sending me their events for the main pages so I just went through the gig section on here and added a heap.. took over an hour :(

Anyway I've changed the settings on the forum calendar so that regular users can add events for a trial run. I'm afraid if it starts to get spammed I'll have to turn it off again.
However, the forum calendar isn't linked to the main Gig Guide on Western Front, so people should still submit their gigs via email to me to be added to that. I'll also try to look into the settings for that so some of the other moderators and possibly regular gig promoters can add events.
