Myself(vocallist) and a (percussionist) mate are looking to start a nu-metal style band looking for interested muso's. This will be my first band project so experience in a prior band is not essential, just a keen interest to play with a bunch of like minded guys, have some fun and play some(hopefully) great music. Slowly building up a list of songs I've written some of which can be found here

Golem and Spine not compulsory show the type of topic's I am influenced and inspired to write about but I also have plenty of silly and random songs that are just there because they are amusing such as songs about girls with ashtray kisses and vomitting while making out... just to name some examples

It wouldn't be too bad joining a nu-metal band, all you'd have to do is act like you're in a nu-metal band. Just don't play your instrument, don't show up for rehearsals, be unorganised, get drunk and act like a general douche. That sounds like people around here anyway.
