Besides, my rant wasn't about anyone in particular, just a blanket complaint about a general injustice that has been festering in my head for a while and his post just set me off.  For THAT I have no apologies.

HAHA just jokes - i reckon you're a good guy for doing the right thing and sticking up for the guy. Having said that of course i also think that he is probably used to all the naysayers, heretics and non-believers constantly heckling him so its all pretty much unholy water off a true believer's back :P

On the topic of reputation, I'm finally getting towards the negatives myself! I was nearly up to 50 in the positives, it was making me sick.

I'm curious as to why my rep has dropped 11 points lately as I hardly post these days. I seemed to be getting epically smoten straight after I put up an advert to try to help myself make a bit of a living. :err:

And Kudos to Rowland for all his hard work. He does good stuff for local music. Not only that but he probably has bought more local band merch than anyone else so he deserves a lot of credit.

But yeah, I'm with Jez..maybe not necessarily as much as with comments in this thread but over the past year or so some people either on here or in general making subtle or not so subtle digs at Rowland for trying his heart out to promote metal, for no particular gain for himself.
He doesn't really have anyone guiding him or showing the best way to do things so it's a learning experience as well. I'll always promote the things he does or offer help or advice if he wants some, but for the most part he's doing it all independently and not relying on anyone else.

Ok, so he has had the occasional gig clash - because he undertook a committment to doing a monthly show for the benefit of the gig going public, and other people put gigs on those dates regardless - that's out of his control. At least he's out there doing things instead of a lot of people that sit back and don't do anything and expect things to happen for them, whether it is gigs popping up for them to go to, or promotion of their band. Then the nerve of some of those people to actually have a dig at him for trying as well.

Anyway doesn't have to become a whole big issue, but at least it's out there now and hopefully a few of those people will have a bit more respect for him and everything he does.

He does cop a lot a shit but he takes it all in his stride, deserved or not and half the time its stuff he can take something from, like the digs about clashing gigs. the productive digging I'd say just helps in a way. The way its delivered and the rest of the digs are just metal heads being metal heads that wanna be top dog but don't have the balls to skip the dance n just flop it out n compare.
As for the compilation album I'm really looking forward to making some mess and painting the cover art and stuff but the photos I took of a model tank in the sand for reference were deleted from my memory card along with all my bush walk photos, graduation exhibition photos and other lil snaps from the last few days. BUT I should be putting brush to paper in the week sometime. I aim to have it all done in about a week or so, that way any more set backs don't make me too late.
Holy rowly is doing really well with the organization I'd say. I'm confident there's be some great CDs on sale on the 9th!
