Anyone making the trip to Sydeny to see UFC 110? Tickets on sale to public tomorrow I think. It's on Feb 21.

Card is looking pretty decent, though at the moment they're mostly rumours...

I'm not considering, I've got the tickets already. It's not like this will be coming back to Australia any time soon.

Not going to The Deen (whatever/wherever that is) is the reason I have the money to do such a thing.

Wasn't really their choice to change that, it got banned pretty much everywhere until they changed the rules and made weight divisions.

Ufc 1 through 10 were full of karate dojo masters... pisshead street brawlers.... .. some made up styles.... like ...nippy chang fu and korean hamster style... and some Gracie dudes..(rickson....royler.) in which were good.. you'd see a fight between a boxer and a ju-jitsu dude with a Gui on ..or a pisshead ally brawler vs a karate master...in which is..Shit simon shit...but as time went on the sport developed into what we have now...Hybrid wrestling...(kick punch and submit or ground and pound)  also there has always been.. Pride..and brasilian vale tudo.... (3 hour long fights...no blood rule or rules ) and any others i haven't mentioned..... ufc's only now come into its own ..taking on a wwf type showcase.. and being accepted as a sport..... and having a loyal following the world over by bloodthirsty cunts such as ourselves has also helped alot too.....

This was what I was referring to as the god old days. Not the ANCIENT days of UFC1 etc. Still love it though.

Yeah im going.

I flew over to the US/Vegas just for UFC 100 because GSP and Lesnar are my favorite fighters. Got 2nd row and had an awesome time.

This whole trip over to Sydney is only going to cost $1200. That is including floor seats. Which is pretty good.

The event sold out in 1 day after it went on sale to the general public, so thats a good indication that they might head back over if everything goes well.

Yeah I heard them raving about how fast it sold out on the UFC 107 coverage.

No floor seats for me sadly, so I should get away at less than $1000 in total.

Totally worth it since it's the first time it'll be here I say!

Hey, someone else nominated one of my ten albums in that AM thread, I'm not all against the grain!

I don't mind Lesnar.. it's not his fault he's a freak of nature and mauls the shit out of everyone with his size alone. As for GSP, he is an amazing fighter, I just find his fights, especially the ones over the past couple of years, extremely boring.

I love the theory of UFC/MMA... but every time I actually decide to watch a match, they spend 80% of the time on the ground "going the dog". I just dont find that interesting. Some matches I have seen from years ago, where actual punches, kicks, elbows etc were thrown and the fighters actually stayed on their feet (barring when they get knocked the fuck out) were fucking awesome, but I can never seem to catch them when I flick it on occasionally, so I pretty much gave up hope.

The ground fighting is great to watch as far as technique goes though.

I've never been a big fan of guys who wrestle their way to wins, and GSP has actually turned himself into one of those fighters, it's a bit bizarre. You're right on the Serra KO though, and I almost don't blame him, pretty embarassing for him really haha. It was a real shame that BJ Penn was so lazy in the lead up to his fight with GSP a little while ago, that could have been far more entertaining after watching him destroy Sanchez.

Thankfully I hate Mir even more than Lesnar so I too enjoyed watching that.

As for the card, I have a feeling there's going to be couple of pissed off guys who'll end up on the prelim fights.. Chris Lytle will probably be one of them. His fights are usually awesome. I don't mind though 'cause I'll be there from midday to see every minute anyway!

Mago: Sounds like you need to get yourself a few volumes of Ultimate Knockouts and end your MMA fandom right there. :P

Waiting for the next Tito Ortis fight now that his back has been fused, when he gets fired up his ground & pound is ridiculous. Chuck Liddel is another fighter I am eager to see fight again, he brings the fuck you attitude right to the end. As for Lesnar, I agree that it was a happy day when he beat the crap outta Mir.

Never been a huge fan of Tito because he looks like a robot when he tries to stand and punch. I loved that Forrest finally got his revenge for the shithouse decision he got a couple of years back.

Can't wait to see Chuck destroy Tito for a third time.
