cdBEAST,

We play in Drop C, so not too low.  I have to say that I used my mates mesa before I have tweaked the amp to my liking and it was without the TS in front, so I'd be interested to hear it again.  I have an oversized V30 cab with my last 6505 and it wasn't boomy at all...  :err:

KH, I'm definitely looking into the Rivera cab, but if that doesn't work out I need another option.

Anyone know about blackstar?  I've heard good things, but what do you reckon?

Crud, I think speakers do have a huge impact on sound;  Moreso than the cab's construction, but I think they all play a part...

Cheers guys,

Dan

I can vouch for the Vader cab also, best fucking thing on the planet. I nearly shat my pants with joy.
I give my flesh and blood freely to the Warchief. I am the instrument of my Warchief's desire. I am a weapon of my Warchief's command.

From this moment until the end of days I live and die - For the Horde!

Yea speakers do make a big difference. So does the cab, just listen to the difference between a vintage Marshall & a mesa cab, same speakers.
Crud I would suggest the V128, Texas Heat or the Cannibas Rex. If you need a little top end bite without fizz then the Texas Heat is best, if you want something well balanced then go the Cannibas Rex.
If you have plenty of cash & want something really cool, get the v12 Lynch Super.  ;)

Thanks Crud!

I think you may have solved my cab problem.  Asked the guy when I can go and see it!  I was stoked when it said cobra, but sadly was a dragon cab hahahahaha  :D

Thanks guys.  Can anyone tell me about the framus dragon cabs?  Pro's/con's?  Good for death metal with my 6505?  (Remembering I'm on a budget hahahaha)

Hey guys,

Just to let you know;  I bought the framus dragon cab. The V30's sounded great and the $500 pricetag and the great condition sealed it for me.

I know there is probably better cabs out there, but for now this will be fine!

Thank you all for your input!

Nice. I would have said them Mesa cabs would be great, as I love my 5150 thru mine, but you've scored that Framus cab, which is a good cab as well. It's all good...
