The Perth International Beer Festival is coming to Perth on February 20 & 21 2010, located at Supreme Court Gardens on the Swan River foreshore.

The festival will showcase a large selection of beers for patrons to sample.

There is entertainment for the whole family with carnival rides, a bucking bull, market stalls and displays.

The 2010 Beer Fest will feature two stages. On the main stage, there will be live music by popular local bands and at the DJ stage, dance music by local DJ's.

The festival runs from 12 to 10pm both days.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available.

How was this last year? I haven't been to one of these Perth Beerfests before, but I recall a mate telling me it was pretty lame...

...and at $25 just to get in plus whatever ridiculous price they'll inevitably charge per beer, it hardly seems worth it. Probably best to just go to the Nookenburra or Dan Murphy's and get an assortment of imports to drink at home.

Why, why does it have to be fun for the whole family? It's a drinking festival, it's inheritly 18+, why the hell would you even want to bring your kids?

When this came around last year, it was a disaster. I wasn't there, mercifully, but here's a nice blog that sums it up.

Hahaha, I was about to quote the same thing "There is entertainment for the whole family" This is the subtle truth to how lame a beer festival can possibly be, if you ever knew one to be..

Think that medival carnival they had a year or 2 ago, just without the medival themes.

Oktoberfest in Munich is a bit of a family event too with lots of rides and stuff for the kids...that is Oktoberfest though.

Paying $20 to buy booze and food. I can do that at home or at gigs.

ok I talked to some mates, apparently the first few years it was good cos they were giving out loads of free samples and everyone got good and drunk for their $20 entry fee... but then it went downhill.

Oh well. i will just drink beer at home

Haha, I just saw beer and got excited... missed it last year due to circumstances beyond my cotnrol, was a bit bummed, but if it was lame... well then... no loss!

Maybe a good time to hit a brewery around eh? While everyone else is at this
