I'm there!
You know one thing I'll never understand about you.  No matter how many times I kick you in the teeth, smack you with the manhole cover, throw hot water in your face, pour molten glass in your rectum.....you'll always come back for more.

So against the filter are:
Google
Yahoo
Save the Children
Australian Library and Information Association
Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia
Systems Administrators Guild of Australia
>90% of SMH website readers
And majority of clued up Australians who understand what is going on.

For the filter:
Stephen Conroy
Michael Atkinson
and Communists.

Stephen Conroy is dodgy as fuck. Just this week 2 new things came out about him
1. An ex worker of his is now employed with a telco rolling out the NBN (something his department has been managing....)
2. Gave the FTA stations a $250 million payout..in an election year....This is when our budget is currently being reviewed and there is a freeze on ALL tax cuts..its nothing short of a bride.

EDIT: Just read this on another forum talkinga bout tonights news (obviously an eastern stater):
Quote
It was fun watching the channel 9 news tonight where in one story they desperately defended themselves against allegations of bribery from Labor to give them positive coverage... And then a couple of minutes later they ran a story about how video games are responsible for the recent rise of schoolyard violence. Fantastic journalism.

He has no fucking idea when it comes to this Internet filter...or the NBN rollout (originally the budget for the NBN was $4billion, its now blown out to $43 BILLION...thats OUR taxes right there..). Typical labour government, sweet talk everyone, while making sure their buddies and co-workers are looked after very well, while fucking up the country.

Cannot wait till they are voted out, unfortunatly Conroy plans to pass this Internet Filter through the Senate etc before the election :(

there does not seem to be a lot of support from the rest of the government, so dont know how he is planning on doing it, hell, the greens minister is going to be a speaker at this protest

Yeah so far it looks like the only support for Conroy has been from the Labor party. Even Kate Lundy seems as if she is against it (she is a Labor MP) but when it comes time to walk the talk, she won't cross the floor and vote against it...mearly being used by Labor as a "hey, some of us share your concerns" type role and to make it look like they are lisenting and caring.

Unfortunatly when you have people like Conroy painting anyone who is against this as "porn addicted pedophiles" it's a bit hard to turn the general public onto your side.

for those who cant attend, or just dont want to, but still want to do your part, there is people organising a mass collection of petitions against the filter that will be delivered to the senate, online petitions are not recognised by the senate and you need to download and sign a paper copy and email this to the senate, download the multi signature one and collect as many signatures as you can.
