Some may feel squeamish about eating it, but rabbit has a fan base that grows as cooks discover how easy they are to raise ? and how good the meat tastes.

Pretty much tastes like chicken, and no it isn't tough.

Neither is kangaroo if you cook it properly.

Oh true. I have heard people say it's tough also but they must not have cooked it properly or something. I haven't tried it myself though

Kangaroo is one of the softest meats out there, if you cook it fresh. When it's been frozen it tends to get rather tough.

rabbits lovely, ive eaten it many times and cooked it twice at home. once with honey and macadamias and once stifado which is a greek style dish. excellent eating.

So is Kangaroo. Kangaroo is a low fat meat so you need to treat it like low fat beef when cooking it. Roo is great for marinating.

We eat roo all the time usually as schnitzels and occasionally emu but there isn't that many around.

Lava Stone Grill used to have a 'Tuckerman's bag' selection which had venison, kangaroo, crocodile kebabs and camel. Now it's a 'Game platter' with Crocodile fillet, vension steak, wild boar and kangaroo steak served with bush tomato chutney.

It is a pretty cool restaurant as it is, in that they bring out your meal raw on a really hot volcanic rock slab and then you cook it yourself to perfection. Hadn't been there for ages but went there on valentines day, but unfortunately I was that hungover from the Evolution Machine show I didn't get to appreciate it as much as I would have.

I eat kangaroo on average once a month. Usually roast, sometimes steak. I love the shit, and so do my kids. Can be a bit tricky to cook the first time, but once you got it sussed, its pretty easy. The last time I ate rabbit I was about 6 or 7 and cant remember what it tastes like, but I do remember distinctly the sound that the shotgun pellets make when you spit them out onto your plate. I found a butcher here in Gero that sells rabbit, quail, crocodile steaks and all that cool shit. Croc is expensive, but its something I have always wanted to try. Might have to splurge the $40 for a steak one day and have a crack (about 500gm).

Croc is awes if cooked right. Just don't over cook it or it will be tough.
